A recently released report suggests the death of Massachusetts woman Sandra Birchmore was a homicide, not a suicide, as an earlier investigation ruled. Stoughton's Police Chief Donna M. McNamara released a statement that she's "profoundly disturbed and troubled" by the report. Retired detective Robert Anzilotti joins "Banfield" to discuss.

Townsend has so much corruption the auditing community is starting to descend upon them. It's everywhere. Every town. And at the State level. They've forgotten they serve under our heels and We the People should press down firmly upon them with those heels to remind them they're merely servants. Nothing more. Justice for Sandra Birchmore. NOW. State police are too close in Massachusetts. There is A LOT of corruption here. The Disabled Person's protection commission investigates the death and abuse of disabled and elderly people and its oversight is the Mass State Police. This terrifies me as a woman experiencing ongoing violent abuse towards me, who is also having difficulty with local police in the suburban Boston area. I have definitely noticed some serious culture of policing problems, like police hazing victims of abuse. I have not found the hope or that the help is available effectively anytime, personally. I hope that others are having more luck with that, with hotlines, with police, with actually connecting to services which are extremely overwhelmed and underfunded. I AM Actually up dealing with insomnia due to all of it, right now.

I was sexually assaulted along with a friend by a guy in a Duster in the 70s. A cop came by and we chased him down, the cop knew he's be hiding behind a Chinese takeout - he was. But it all got tossed out of court because the guy was the shrink for the court! This was on the north shore of Chicago area.

We need a federal law forbidding any law enforcement agency from investing crimes committed by their own officers. It should be an office under the state AG, or the feds. (even though we know the feds to be as useful as tits on a bull.)

Law enforcement as a whole needs to be Restructured. Higher education requirements (A 2.0 GPA, well below the average, and 16 weeks of training is all you need to be a police officer in most states. The government has actually passed rulings that law enforcement can deny somebody for being to smart, the national average IQ score for police nationally was 21 to 22, the equivalent of a 104 IQ). Medical evaluation for Health and Steroid usage (steroids are known to increase irritability, anxiety and aggression and cause mood swings, with symptoms of paranoia and lack of emotion), psychological evaluations annually, and Term limited Civilian Oversight board.

I didn't know about Karen Read until the start of her trial. I was only interested because her attorney was saying that she was framed. I'm thinking, "Oh sure, she was framed...another criminal who claims they didn't do it... like in the Shawshank Redemption, "I didn't do IT." I thought I would watch the news documentary of the Karen Read case before the trial started...so i know what's going on. By the end of the show... I was on Karen's side and still am.

Internal Affairs is no different that a private company's HR department in that it's not in their best interest to find wrongdoing since the company would be at risk of a lawsuit. Internal Affairs is a joke and I bet if you checked any recent guilty sentences of cops you would find that IA already did an internal investigation and found no wrong doing. Seriously do you expect employees who are working for a company to turn on their own company? It's called job security and suppressing the facts.

If you want to be able to get away with statutory rape then just become a cop at this department. I love how the media keeps saying this child had a sexual relations with officers when thats not possible. How can a minor have a relationship with an adult. Thats rape plane and simple but we won't say that cuz its some officers that did the raping.
