I was a police explorer and worked as a role player for a police academy. Those years taught me so much about police work and of course it was pretty cool going on ride alongs and pretending to be a bad guy for the academy scenarios. They gave me .38 snub with blanks, had me jump out from behind a tree and “ambush” the cadets during their traffic stop training to observe how they’d react. It was the most fun I’ve ever had while getting paid. The cadets had simunition to fire back though and those things hurt.

@Steve Jones - I'm certain it will be a great program and a great opportunity to try out both fields to see where your greater interest and passion is. We wish you luck on the journey! Serving people in this capacity is a great sacrifice, but really rewarding.

Thanks John for the heads up! I would very much like to enter the contest again! But this time I think I'm going to make a a little less silly video. Currently I'm playing with a new editing suite called Final Cut Pro, I'm sure you have heard of it, so this will be great! Thanks a lot Victor

I was thinking about joining this program. I currently live in Lake Worth. Who should I contact to join? I believe Palm Beach County Sheriff's Dept is the closest to me. Anyone who could give me any more detailed information on this program and what fees are required? Thank You

How about you spend less time on mock scenarios and more time teaching these kids about the U.S. Constitution and how to avoid violating the rights of the citizens that they are supposed to be serving and protecting if and when they become law enforcement agents? Some things are absolute, including the oaths that police officers take.
