Come along with me as I ride my 2015 BMW R1200RTP Police Motorcycle at a law enforcment track in Salem, OR. We focus on slow speed cone drills, braking from 40, 60 and 80 mph, traffic stop collision avoidance and proper spacing, as well as cornering lines and braking in turns.

I’m a cop in my cruiser right now. I’m looking to buy a 2012 R1200RT after my R Nine T got rear ended and totaled at a stop light on the way to EV Room training. Bike was totaled ($9,500 - all cosmetic damage…)I was fine. ATGATT!!! What I’m jealous about is that you don’t have to transport annoying prisoners! 😉👍 Stay safe brother!! (SUBBED w/ full alerts)

Yeah they're not great of motorcycle riders. Outrun them on lesser bikes many a time. And it's not just me, many motorcyclists are better than them, just like many shooters are better them if you go visit them at a gun range you'll see. Many carry weapons, ride bikes, etc. Not because they're good at it but their job requires them to.

When I first got a dirtbike, my dad loved to push me through tight trails a woods riding, doing all these same techniques to avoid trees and rocks. It was only when I got older and started riding street bikes that I realized what a solid foundation it creates.

Awesome! Thanks for recording and sharing that experience. Big props to your buddy for pushing that Concours around the cone course; I'm sure he loved the track portion. I don't think I'd try it on my 2009 C14. Hopefully I can get my 2003 R1150RTP in decent shape this spring and I am hoping to participate in some of the local moto-rodeos. I'm federal LEO, but not in a motor unit, so I am limited to the ones that are open to civilians. I am eager to see how well I can get my R1150RTP through one of those courses. Great video content, I loved your camera angle and your ability to narrate a lot of what was happening. One thing I really appreciate and I think all riders of all skill levels could take note of is that often the difference between losing control coming into a corner or any other situation hot is calmly correcting and keeping eyes where they belong. Been riding decades and that calm ability to correct makes the difference.

I am impressed with the bike and your skill level. I have ridden an BMW only once. The driveshaft made the feel so different. The back of the bike would rise up instead of going down. And they are so quiet. No vibration to speak of. Smooth. Well made motorcycle. STAY SAFE! This track seems very nice. A safe place to practice and learn. I did enjoy it. THANKS....

Thank you for watching! They are very good bikes. I don’t have much negative to say. If you can do your own maintenance they aren’t too expensive to own. We have 2015’s now and before that had 2009’s. That boxer motor is a tractor but it does well.

You’re riding is incredible. I wish I could ride like that. The slow stuff blows me away. That’s were the ok riders become good riders and throwing the pick out at 80 mph without triggering the abs is really classy stuff. I wish I could get the training you guys have.
