Yep , stopped watching INSIDERS once MURDOCH'S MINION aka DAVID SPEERS took over. I have fond memories of the old ABC. Watch the ABC TV morning News and watch the weather and sport presenters walk off the set (planned) when some 🎶 music is played. 😂 Who (wonder what age group they are?) ever came up with that idea should get off those drugs or get back on them . The whole idea is nonsensical and is so down right STUPID it's beyond laughable . 🤔🤔🤔 Remember when the ABC was the pinnacle for other TV stations to try and emulate, ahh , those were the days . Now , just a memory.😢

Having lived there, not a good option at all. We may have an unnatural relationship with them, but even that is better than being a part of them. Another aspect would be that IF we did somehow become a new state, we would be even further away from "continental" USA than Hawaii, Puerto Rico... or Alaska. Many Continental USA people seem to have a problem recognising those parts as being valid parts of the union... even though Alaska is a part of that same continent!

I was born 1957. I went to school with the Italians and Greece kids! Did I play with them after school? No! They were busy helping their fathers and uncles building Rock Solid brick homes for the family! Knowing that uncle Vito or Guispetti would be there for them also! The current immigration is so warped and twisted! Nothing like the "Wog's^! Ignore the right or wrong of nuclear power itself for now, Dutton and the Coalition reckon they can get a Nuclear power station up and running in 10 years. I imagine that will include the process to overturn the current ban on nuclear power, create the currently non existent regulations required to govern such an industry, set up the regulatory body to oversee the whole process, all before a single sod of earth is turned. No expertise in Australia to actually build such a thing, or run one, or oversee it. A "Park and Ride" bus station was recently built on an already cleared car park near me. "Park and Ride" is a glorified name for a carpark/Bus stop with a toilet block and a few rain shelters. An already cleared site, already fairly level, great access, around an acre in size. It took a year to complete. A year for a car park and toilet block? I'd say based ion that a complete Nuclear industry, with infrastructure would be closer to 20-25 years. The US already has the regulatory system in place, had it for decades, already has the expertise, and the skilled workforce. The best they can do is 19 years to build a Nuclear power station. Maybe Dutton is talking about those micro-plants that come pre-built? That would be closer to 10 years, just to get the required planning approval through the systems

Why bother planting trees if they take 25 years to grow? Besides you already know other countries have done it in 10 years plus maybe 2 years planning.

@@dirtmcgirt168Um, I didn't question if you should or shouldn't I merely pointed out that the time frame claimed is, well, a dream. US is one of the (if not the) best set up places to plan and build nuclear power.. it takes them around 19 years.

@@iffracem Google is your friend here, the median time of nuclear power plants is about 7.5 years. You could probably google so factors as to why this may take more or less time than the average while you are at it in=stead of cherry picking some data.

I'd like to see something about the vast difference in coverage of the victorian mum who went missing, vs a irish woman who lived in her van who went missing a week or so ago. But never heard a peep about her except in my womens van life groups . She appears to have committed suicide and taken her dog with her💔, only an hour away from me. Im not sure the rest of circumstances, but was a sad thing to happen during IWD week especially

Hey Michael! Any chance at looking at the discrepancy of over policing at A-League/Soccer games in Australia compared to the other codes. On top of that what happens when it comes time for the news to report it. Minors were arrested and spoken to without a guardian/lawyer present at Western Sydney last week and then "The Den" were accosted and pushed around by police (including minors) in Brisbane on the Sunday

In the era of printing money, one of the best ways to limit the inflation rate of that 'quantitative easing' effect is to generate war or defence spending. In spending this 368 billion, they removed that money from circulation, increasing the value of each dollar already in circulation. Modern economic theory is mind boggling.
