Yet, when a reporter interviewed Crimo's uncle, he said there were never any red flags that indicated anything unusual. I would say that attempting suicide and threatening to kill family members just might be red flags.

If he spent any time in a mental hospital, it would have been an automatic 6 year restriction on getting a firearm, but it didn't happen. Much like this shooting.

People who don't understand what was said about the female witness who saw the shooter ditch his gun, please read this: The woman who saw him drop the gun in the red blanket behind the shop led them to the gun that had been used, but she told the officers she saw him ditch the gun as she herself was trying to get to safety, as in she told an officer as everyone was running away and they were looking for the shooter. She didn't stick around to make sure they found it and give her info, which I don't blame her for, but hopefully she will see that they are trying to find her and feel it's safe to come forward now. With someone crazy enough to do what he did still being on the loose I too would be scared to come forward and be identified, likely plastered on the news, and possibly become a target by said crazy person or their family.

nope. Politicians have refused for decades to include mental health information in with background checks. Write your congressman.......it would probably solve most of these types of problems. It's not the guns that are bad, instead, it's the massive increase in mentally deranged people now a days. Plus i'm sure the meds they are on for the mental issues play a HUGE role in these homicide acts. Most of the antipsychotics we use today were invented and patented by the US military and gov prior to use with civilians

Seems way too fast-thinking-and bizarre- for, someone to realize in the moment, “Hey, not only should I get out of the line of fire, but I can sell the gun that murderer just dropped onto that blanket on eBay if I survive.” Either the police are chasing down a bad tip or there’s more to this story. Either way, I expect this little detail to disappear into the memory-hole by tomorrow.
