For anyone wondering, the guy was a career criminal who had a rap sheet (more than 30) of crimes, he was imprisoned for some of those a few years ago. Here after endangering the police officer, he dumped the car and ran on foot and hid, after a big manhunt he was captured 8 hours later in a car ride by a family member. In his car he dumped, they found a stolen gun reported in 2016. The last time I checked he was in prison for attempted murder and others. He wasn't friendly, he was an extremely dangerous individual.
@WalkMrJ

That's funny. Because what I read was that the cop was a klansman looking for an excuse to execute undesirables. The gun in the car was a career gun and it was stashed. The crime before it was located in the SUV occurred in Florida, the day the suspect was at work.

@@MrSatchelpack There are two things. One is that these vids tend to be shown in news media when they're bad, so casual viewers are usually only going to see a skewed sample. Second is that it really depends how the vids are packaged; on social media, the most brazen example of a justified shooting will still be negatively packaged by certain sections of society. This site is good for showing pretty much all the bodycam shooting vids (the good, the bad and the inconsequential). You do get a broad spectrum and very rarely do you see a shooting in which the police were, in the end, unjustified.

Now that I’ve seen for myself I want to be a hero like them. 99% of the time when someone says a cop shot someone because they’re black you can watch the footage and see what actually happened. It’s usually someone pulled a gun or knife or it’s suicide by cop. The media will never show who the police truly are.

100% bro. I have crazy respect for the law enforcement community. Why anyone would CHOOSE to be a cop, that to me is a mystery. Hardest fucking job in society today. There is a back and forth that goes on and on and on in all these body cam videos where a cop rolls up, being nice/polite/respectful and the individual in question is asked to comply with a request to provide ID, or tell the cop his/her name, or turn off the car (in the case of this video) and the individual is caught in the idea that they didn't do anything so why is this happening? The point that is glaringly obvious to me is if you didn't do anything then why not comply? Its so stupid - and that is why I wouldn't take this job.

@kaya7396
@kaya7396 2 ай бұрын
That's the thing. He didn't smoke weed. The cop was claiming he smelled weed when the guy was smoking a black. It wasn't weed, but cops can claim they smell weed, even if they don't, because it lets them search vehicles without a warrant, especially if you are a convicted felon. This is an issue with biased policing that people have brought up for decades now. There's no way to prove whether or not a cop legitimately "believes" they smell weed, so just by claiming they smell weed, they have the power as police offers to do an immediate search of your person and car. This only recently has changed because some states have legalized weed, but in the states where even medical marijuana is either still illegal or highly restricted to ppl with only certain illnesses, this is still a very big problem that cops who are biased use more frequently on (whether they actually smell weed or not) the people they are biased against.

@@johnny4481 his life was at risk. The driver wouldn't put his hands up. They don't ask to put your hands up for no reason. It's very easy to conceal a firearm in a car and it's just about as easy to get the drop on someone who isn't holding a gun using that concealed weapon. This kind of tactic is known to be both very common and very deadly in this kind of situation. The cop decides to take such measures because he was trained to take those exact measures in this exact situation. Why was he trained this way? The answer is pretty straight forward: if you hesitate to pull out your gun when the suspect reaches for something --- you die. Learn a thing or two about policing before talking ignorant nonsense like this.

He kinda freaked out when the cop smelled the weed. Probably had a few priors on his record, and a possession charge could throw him back into the system. You can tell from the initial altercation that he was terrified, realizing that he fucked up three times (weed, fleeing, and battery). The cop was chill throughout the entire engagement, but he switched his profile when he noticed the driver was uneasy. Had the suspect complied, he would’ve been charged as well for possession of an unlicensed firearm (later revealed). Bad day for both.

You mean officers do that to dudes. Obviously, and as we all already know, a simple ticket ain't so simple. Police should stop harassing people over petty bullshit. And they're called "officers", so they should definitely be in an office until called for an actual emergency. Firefighters don't cruise around looking for fires and they don't try to murder whoever may have set one.
