Policing Of St George's Day Rally "Was In Contrast" To Pro-Palestine Protests

TalkTV's Julia Hartley-Brewer says the policing of a St George’s Day rally “was very much in contrast” with the policing of pro-Palestine protests.
Six people have been arrested as a St George’s Day event was held in Whitehall.
Videos posted on social media show disorder breaking out and people being detained by officers at the event, which was attended by Tommy Robinson, who was one of the speakers.
The Metropolitan Police posted on X, formerly Twitter, earlier on Tuesday to say they expected “far-right groups and groups linked to football clubs” to attend.
Four arrests were made outside a pub in Whitehall - one on suspicion of assault and three on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker, the Metropolitan Police said.
Julia says: “We just cannot have two-tier policing!”

Thats so true but it did seem they were also trying to cause trouble earlier on during the march by running past them to get to the front so they could form a line to block off where they thought they may try to march down. They failed on every attempt as the crowd saw what the police were trying to do so moved down a different street

Get your facts right JHB. I normally admire you very much but you have been taken in by this clip. The police deliberately instigated those scuffles to get the effect desired by MSM to discredit the people attending a 'CELEBRATION' not a rally or a march. The police totally cordoned off a road up which they were walking, and prevented them proceeding for no reason whatever. There was no trouble, it was the police who breached the peace. And why did they have the police horses? In six months of the Arab hate marches, not a horse to be seen.

I was there. A small group of 50 of us were walking from trafalgar square to downing street. Smiling, chatting, very peaceful, drivers tooting and waving then, all of a sudden the police blocked the road without any reason. It wasn't even crowded. People argued peacefully then literally about 5 thugs started pushing to try and get through from the other side and the police charged forward. Nearly everyone on our side started walking away from the line, police horses came in from one direction and the police charged from the other... mainly at people quietly walking away. I was knocked to the ground and nearly trampled on but people quickly rushed to pick me up. The behavioyr of the police was unnecessary and their reaction to FOUR troublemakers pushing the line (not throwing bricks or bottles like BLM) was disproportionate.

For the amount of people there the whole event was massively over-policed. Had they not been in attendance at all, I suspect that there would have been no trouble at all. Definitely, two tier policing and the government need to step in on this biased approach.

There was filming by a civilian journalist. I was watching, and the happy crowd was about to walk to Trafalgar Sq..that is what I heard. Suddenly they were blocked from walking down a street. People tried very hard to reason with the bad tempered cops, and told the cops it was unlawful to prevent them walking. People were virtually pleading to be allowed to move. Cops surged forward and some people began to get through..then batons, violence and horses were crashing into the men, women and at least one child.

I find very difficult to understand how anyone can disagree with the claim that there is a 2 tier policing system in the UK because something like this is proof beyond any doubt. There are instances of bad police behaviour happening across the UK on almost a daily basis now with the Met in particular forever apologising for their conduct and it is no wonder public confidence in the force is at an all time low.

It was a celebration not a demonstration! Why do all the news coverage keep mislabelling the event. The people were in their capital city to celebrate their day and exercise their right to freely gather in Trafalgar Square. Their right to do so was stopped outright with a small area on Whitehall allocted to 'allow' them to hold an event, The policing tactics implemented were completely inappropriate for the size and purpose of the event.

Why do we need to protest in support of our Englishness? Make it a party, have bands on in Trafalgar Square and treat it like we have done for St Patrick's Day, Carnival and the recent Eid celebrations. Every year we have the Met Police filmed twerking with well proportioned West Indian dancers or dressed up as rainbow unicorns doing the conga at Pride so why not make our national day something to be proud about and remove any stigma attached to the flag?
@JH-ck1nr
@JH-ck1nr 3 ай бұрын
The stigma was added by leftie woke media, our own Politicians and Government. As for the happy twerking police at Afro Caribbean Events. What, like the stab fest Notting Hill Carnival that ends up with officers sexually assaulted or stabbed or beaten up?? This is not Africa or the Caribbean , it is Britain. We have seen enough of the peaceful happy people thanks!!!

Three of us drove down from West Yorkshire to join the celebrations. Two 71 year olds and a 65 year old. In Whitehall we were faced with full scale riot police. They were even forcibly attempting to move us off the public footpath and coral us into a small area for absolutely no reason. The intimidation and obvious aggression showed by RIOT POLICE towards mainly elderly patriotic people was absolutely appalling and totally unnecessary😡 A far cry from the policing attitude towards the Palestinian protesters who are casually accompanied on their marches and given police assistance to help them climb down off statues and war memorials.

A woman said she was just behind this and the police stopped the moving crowd for no apparent reason as it was flowing well. A couple of men decided to push through and in came the horses to the side of them and she actually fell over and nearly got trampled on. This was a day of celebration and not a protest march or rally so why was there a need for mounted police or indeed a heavy police presence- where they expecting trouble 🤔

FAO JULIA - this was NOT a protest - it was a celebration. The police confronted these people - WALKING PEACEFULLY TO the protest - so they had some press 'propoganda' to promote ofc. (NO other reason possible) The people were upset as they hadn't even arrived at the venue. The MET arrived (mounted) suddenly and offensively. This was an abuse of power - ofc. The rally was peaceful, with music and celebration. Re the earlier court case: Tommy was attending. court earlier - since he had been WORKING at the anti anit - semitism - HE was peacefully working and respected the MET as appropriate. However, Gideon Falter required his removal for NO reason and spoke to the MET to remove him. Tommy was assaulted by the about 20 met police, (Actual footage onlinae) and also WRONGLY barred from LONDON for 6 months. The MET CONVENIENTLY lost all of their camera footage. It was 'filmed over', 'lost' or was 'a mate's camera '. No aurhorisation - nor order - had been given, nor recognition of Toms (legal) work/ and right to be present. Every possible 'error' - including lies - was/were made. Even the senior officer or present at that time had NO legal reason to do what he instructed these men to do. Their written court document were incorrect/and times were changed to look appropriate (lies). Tommy will now sue - as he should. Gideon wants to be free in the streets of London - but took that freedom AWAY from Tommy - what a HYPOCRITE. Tommy supported anti anti-semitism (ofc) also and would NEVER do that. Gideon needs to maKe a PUBLIC apology. This cost Tommy £60,000. The case was THROWN OUT of. course -Tommy will now sue.
