True porcelain tile is the same colour throughout the tile and surface , the tile you're using has the same colour glaze as the body (glazed porcelain ). This means that if it chips, there is less chance of seeing it compared to light body porcelain and dark surface glaze. Thank you for the video.

Awesome information.

Great demo. Just a question on the bullnose - this would seem to work great where the tile surface and porcelain are the same color - like your gray example (very nice) but I'd guess it might not always turn out as nice as yours did. Something to keep in mind when selecting tiles.

Great job, where do you get the p egg ofile wheel. The big box stores did not have them.
@arrowheadtileandstone89733 жыл бұрын
Amazon has them if you don’t have a local Dal Tile or Tom Duffy.

Great and to the point video, what speed setting/rpm on the grinder are you using?
@arrowheadtileandstone89732 жыл бұрын
For these dry pads I usually stay around setting three or four which is about 6800 to 7800 RPM I believe. Keep it around level two (4000 RPM) for the profile wheel. I’ll double check the RPMs when I get back to the trailer later.

Will this attach and work on a ryobi angle grinder?
@arrowheadtileandstone89732 жыл бұрын
Yep it should attach to any angle grinder. The only thing you’ll want to make sure is that it is a variable speed. Technically you could use it with a standard grinder but it’s dangerous and spinning too fast. I’ve used it on standard grinders in the past but it is super risky and not supposed to at that high of RPM

Do you recommend doing this on shiny porcelain tiles?? Looking options for stairs when they dont come with bullnose..
@arrowheadtileandstone89733 жыл бұрын
Yep absolutely, you’ll need to Go up to a 1500 or possibly even 3000 grit dry pad if you’re really wanting to make it shiny.

Could you list the equipment used?
@arrowheadtileandstone89733 жыл бұрын
5 inch Makita SJS variable speed grinder, 3/16” stone profile wheel, 400 grit dry polishing pad and 800 grit dry polishing pads with Velcro backer. Most Dal-Tile sand Tom Duffy carry the pads/etc. Home Depot online has the best deal for the grinder.
