Before Brexit, 40% of UK trade was with the EU. How long will it take for the UK membership of CPTTP to match that ? I am sure there will be two hour explanation from her on this question, all mangled with obfuscation, lies and irrelevant nonsense. And didn't the UK have a referendum before joining a trading bloc? As for sovereignty, CPTTP includes the ISDS, where corporations can sue countries in secret tribunals outside of the national legal system for billions. Well done Badenoch. You lied.

"...there is no loss of sovereignty, there is no parliament, there is no political integration" she says with a straight face. All TPP-type "trade agreements" have a little gift in common, as buried within, there are ISDS (Investor State Dispute Settlement) clauses - aka Trojan Horse clauses. These allow for investors to sue signators' governments for loss of projected profits due to said governments' countries having laws hampering those profits - laws concerning food safety or carbon emissions, for example. So sure - there is no parliament, like the EU Parliament, which we actually took part in - just supranational arbitration committees, who award moneys from the "offending" country to cover loss of future profits. "No loss of sovereignty" is a barefaced lie.

Honest question, but how many government ministers, including the PM, would any of us here describe as being even “above average”, let alone good or exceptional? I would argue that almost all, if not all, are below average people with below average skills, competence and intelligence. Which is why we’re a below average country. Below average growth. Below average wages. Below average outcomes. Above average inflation. Above average discontent. Above average COVID deaths. Below average growth post COVID. I can’t think of a single thing that they’ve actually improved for the British people. Not a single thing.

I actually think that Sunak is probably, intelligence-wise, in the top 10%. The problem is that HE thinks he's in the top 0.00001% and, as his pre-predecessor showed, you don't have to put much effort in anyway, so he doesn't really bother. Plus he's an evil expletive only out for himself, of course. Badenoch, meanwhile, comes across as someone so dim that she forgot that she cheated in order to scrape through uni and actually thinks she sailed through with ease on her amazing talents.

Badenoch talks barely understandable gooledegook like "Professor" Stanley Unwin, except she is not in the least bit funny like the well loved comedian was. The only funny bit is the wealth of sarcastic comments that well up in your brain when she speaks. You could say she is "badenoch" without opening her mouth to speak.

The Economy and Trade should be managed separately
@raph_csg
@raph_csg Жыл бұрын
well, trade and the economy go hand in hand but they most definitely are managed separately which is shown by the fact we’ve got BAT and the Treasury as different departments.
@jammiedodger7040
@jammiedodger7040 Жыл бұрын
@@raph_csg Trade and the Economy are the same department ever since the reshuffle also the Economy does not always go hand in hand with Trade as the Economy can be Domestically like Domestic Industry making stuff for British people which has absolutely nothing to do with Trade and if we want to become more full independent we need to produce most of our own stuff domestically meaning we need a bigger focus on the domestic economy and not the global economy so that why they need to be completely different departments.
@raph_csg
@raph_csg Жыл бұрын
@@jammiedodger7040 Business and Trade are the same department not “Economy” as that department is nonexistent but HM Treasury is the closest thing and that is entirely separate to BAT. International Trade (which is what is assume you meant) and Business 99% of the time go hand in hand as companies either buy/sell internationally or get supplies from abroad; a perfect example would be Jaguar Land Rover who sell their vehicles internationally but also buy components from other countries in order to manufacture their cars. Britain cannot produce everything because it’s not blessed with some of the natural resources that other countries are which is why we can’t simply focus on the domestic economy and act like we don’t need anything from overseas… You can even walk into your local supermarket and see that many things are imported from abroad because we simply don’t have the climate to grow certain foods. The merger doesn’t mean that staff from either department have been cut or BAT would have to focus less on Business in favour of Trade so it’s wrong to make such an insinuation.
