@@Michael-pg7rv Yeah a false sense of exceptionalism is definitely a Canadian thing. Everybody was laughing it up in 2008 when housing crashed in the USA, and Canadian banks got a stealth bailout so Canadians could continue speculating on real estate. Now Canada's going into an even bigger debt-implosion than 2008, and the USA economy is going to rocket right past us.

Even with the right technique and assets some investors would still make more than others, as an investor, you should’ve known that by now, nothing beats experience and that’s final, personally I had to reach out to a market analyst for guidance which is how I was able to grow my account close to a million, withdraw my profit right before the correction and now I’m buying again.

That's correct. At first, I wasn't too pleased with my gains compared to my previous performances, I was doing so poorly, I thought I needed to diversify into better assets, so I got in touch with an investment-advisor. Canadian residents get 2 weeks minimum vacation. But they have family and friends all over the world. How does 2 weeks give anyone incentive to stay here? Yes one works hard, but then they burn out from multiple jobs to pay rent, and not having time to see their family or friends back home. Why would even second generation Canadians want to be productive? Their reward for hard work is not enough time off to recharge and not being able to see their relatives or friends who may be overseas. Maybe we need to remember life is more than just the hours we put into work, its about making those hours productive so we can take the time off to make time for other things that also matter. Germany and France seem to get it, 4 to 5 weeks seems to be standard there as a I read, and they are much more productive than us since they have something to look forward too. But if Canadians want to be silent and continue to do nothing about fixing our system which we should be able to do in a democracy, maybe they need to relearn the meaning of civil society and democracy.

I am a born Canadian and I am exploring other living alternatives, other than Canada. I can no longer afford a healthy reasonable quality of life and see no future for my two teenage children. They will never be able to buy a home, both will go into debt to get training for future careers, they probably won't leave my home for a very long time as there are no affordable rentals and somehow I will have to sustain their living for them longer on one salary. Our health is declining because we can not access adequate medical care and afford reasonable healthy groceries. Gas is outrageous and it is difficult to be able to afford to get around the city for appointments, school and work. My son has applied to ample places as a teenager with NOT ONE call back for a part time job. Our city is overwhelmed with newcomers and our infastructure and social services can not sustain the rapid growth. Our government does not listen or respond to the people and give themselves well above the average Canadian salary.

Trudope needs to stop the mass immigration from India to Canada. That is step one. He needs to ensure Canadians can survive and thrive. Second, you are clearly white. How do I know? Only white people kick their kids out of the house when they’re 18. Other cultures - we can learn from them!! - live under one roof together with their kids and sometimes even with their spouses and children. When families pool their resources, it works better for everyone. Wouldn’t it be easier on you if your children and spouses brought home their money and it was divided between your mortgage, utilities, food and other household expenses? Not to mention, the elders in the home can take care of it and the children (no daycare costs!!). Furthermore, it’s time more jobs can be done remotely - COVID already proved it was possible for many jobs so being “in the office” is not a viable excuse anymore for many careers which saves on gas and transportation expenses. These solutions have worked for other cultures and during COVID. I don’t know why anyone is so stubborn to learn the lessons that work. And get Trudope out of office too - other countries would have overthrown the government by now had that ahole been their leader but all Canadians worry about is hockey and the price of beer! Time to get it together, Canada!

It is not THAT easy. Many immigrants that arrive in Canada on a "points" system bring in a lot of money with them. Those who sponsor their close family members have to show enough earnings and have to take responsibility for the sponsored for 10 years. If it is a whole family immigrating, they bring in enough $$ (often close to a million $$) to buy a house/property. The Canadian bankers and the govt win at the end of the day because there is a huge amount of $$ as well as people coming in who will borrow more $$ once here.

Canada is so broken that immigrants are actually trying to leave us, leaving the original population to our own messes.

My circle of friends feel that it’s not enjoyable living here. High cost of living with not enough time to enjoy life. Long hours at work and unaffordable housing has pushed young people further out… it’s normal to be driving 20 mins to get groceries and up to 1hr to 1.5h hang out with friends… rather stay home. Leading to feeling isolated and in addition we have very short summers… and very long depressing winters. Some of our friends found opportunities in the U.S and are getting ready to leave. We’re mid 30s, skilled white collar professionals and Canadian citizens in our prime. Would of been considered upper middle class 10 to 15 years ago. Such a shame, Canada will face a brain drain. Lastly, the standard of living is decreasing, basic etiquette is being drowned by the influence of immigration…. Where is Canadian culture and values?

I do not like or accept it, I am aware of it. They tell us we're free, that we're free to associate, but that's a lie. If we refuse to vote for any of them, they exclude us, but when they refuse to vote on any law, they include themselves, while they tell us we're all equal without discrimination. Here’s how to stop that sh*t. Newcomers are limited to living in rural AB, SK or MB with communities under 1000 persons where they are free to set up house and businesses to bring those communities back to life. No moving to any of the large cities - income tax proves the address. If the immigrant moves to one of the major cities, it’s 30 day deportation. So come and live in the boonies and make them thrive or you don’t get to come at all. Sound harsh? That’s what the government did to the Europeans who were our grandparents and great grandparents! They got a plot of land in the middle of butt f*ck nowhere and they made it work! This is how immigration should be handled now - you’re free to come after you are appropriately vetted but are limited as to where you can live. Watch THAT self-control immigration issues overnight.

This is the outcome of financialized housing that went into overdrive during a decade of 'easy money'. The economy is now largely based on housing and one's lot in life depends on how much housing one's family owns. Worse, housing is a poor productivity driver and high debt loads drain on future growth. Canada's real economy has hollowed out. The cost of Canada's failings on housing is emerging now. Canadian and foreign talent not born to real estate wealth will leave because Canada offers them a poor deal. Who wants to pay $3000 a month for a crappy apartment to live near job centers and earn less than one can make in peer countries? This is not the Canada I grew up in where hard working people had a clear path to prosperity--it's increasingly a feudal state dominated by property owners.

The problem started after the 2008 financial crisis and has grown while our federal govt has been terribly ineffective at discovering the problem until it's too late and then not been effective at dealing with it. Honestly, the federal government is out of touch and needs to get out of Ottawa and be 90% spread across this country instead of being so highly concentrated. It needs to be in all communities it serves and it needs to employ all Canadians and not just those who can speak French and English. With respect to more immigration and being the land of milk and honey, I think we need a new healthier diet 😂. Firstly, all provinces need to be able to control their own immigration to meet their needs just as countries do in Europe. Otherwise only Toronto and Vancouver will grow and that's not good for the country as a whole. Give each province the right to control immigration into their province and recognize that a person can be a citizen of a province without having nationwide citizenship (ie. recognize we are a nation of nations just as in the EU). Secondly, if we invest in productive assets we can improve our productivity and not require so many immigrants. Thirdly, we need to first give Canadians an opportunity to afford to raise a family and to have a larger family. Community integration issues and social conflict are then much fewer, and having kids is such a wonderful experience. We have robbed our children of the most wonderful experience. WE NEED TO SERIOUSLY CHANGE TO MAKE LIFE AFFORDABLE FOR OUR CHILDREN! Forget helping other nations deal with their over population problems!!!! My gosh these countries that keep churning out babies are smart enough to do something about it. Only their rich elite don't want to share the wealth with the poor in their country and that seems to be the big driver of population growth as poor people need children for support and the dream that one child might succeed. Help our children first (Sorry if that sounds a bit like MAGA).😊
