ya know if he gave like Don Toliver a 5 he would obviously give Polo G a higher rating. Don Toliver had a lot of poor songs on his record. Polo G has a lot more good songs on his album.

Joseph93 Nope. He agreed with everything I was already thinking. The album been out and this video is kind of late. I already listen to the album 4 times and had my own opinion weeks before this video came out and actually this is one of the first times we have even agreed on an album. He gave The Weeknd’s “after hours” a light 7. I believed it deserved an 8.5 and up. The production and beats were amazing on that album. He also rated some other good albums extremely low,but he has an opinion and I have mine.

Just to get real here for a second, I think there are different levels of talent at particular crafts, and it is what it is. Look at Future, young thug, etc etc. These artist are considered 'goats', and in allot of ways they really were just masters at crafting bangers and pushing the sound forward. Take a look at Kendrick VS Travis Scott. Both MASSIVE artist, considered top of their craft, yet look back at their song 'goosebumps', and then compare how they've grown from those positions and how they handle making 'bangers' or music that gets allot of views. Kendrick could not emulate Travis, and vice versa. Can Kendrick kill Travis bar for bar, and talk about more deep shit in 16 bars then Travis could in a whole album? 100%, But does that make him a superior artist whenever Travis is doing almost the same numbers, and pushing his sound forward, constantly revolutionizing what trap is? They're both in their own lane, and they're both very talented at what they do and the way they perceive music and breaking it down. The idea behind it. So when you're a bangers artist in 2020 for example, you're going to be compared to a Travis Scott, the top of the field for a bangers artist, and that's why Fantano gave lil uzi and lil baby like 4's on their most recent albums, because they're great artist, future HOF status, but they're not doing the shit Travis is doing. It reflects within the music, and it reflects with views, sales, etc. So whenever you talk about Lil pump in 2017, he was a the top of his craft, pushing the sound forward. When people talk about 'soundcloud rap', X, denzel, etc etc, Lil pump is right up there. At the forefront of banger trap rap and the soundcloud wave, and you can't take that from him, or take his influence from him. At the time, he deserved a 7. Lil pump is HOF status, like it or not. If you're going to use your music as social commentary, and remix songs like a tupac song for example, then you're going to be compared to the likes of Tupac, kendrick, Cole, etc. You put yourself in your own lane. You want to be lyrical, dark, gritty, cover racism and other social issues, then you will be compared to those I listed above. You want to drop bangers that's all about the vibe? Then you'll be compared to those I listed above. It is what it is. It makes sense to me. Talent is subjective.

Polo's got incredible crossover appeal and imo the bar of the year in "straight from the chi but I ball like a king in cali and shoot like stojakovic". Very rare to see a drill rapper have a melodic sound like that, Durkio's the only other one that can pull it off.

As a polo g super fan I would like to notify that the reason that a few tracks were so under produced was because he had a lot of lesser known producers produce a few songs to try and get them some recongnition and with Lil Babys verse its something on his end because the same problem is on his track with Iann Dior

I’m glad he reviewed Polo G cause Anthony doesn’t usually touch on actual hood rap he does mainstream rap more. Polo drew a lot from G Herbo’s BLIK and old Lil Durk songs. You would like those projects too.

I’d give this album a solid 8. I agree that the production isn’t diverse enough but I never really noticed it being mixed too quietly (except for Lil Baby’s verse, he’s hard enough to understand as it is). Polo’s songwriting and storytelling skills are top notch

What I feel is the most important thing for him is he talks about the drugs and violence in how he dealt with each of those rather then promoting it like most of all hip hop does. This is easily a top three if not number one album of the year. My only criticism is the mixing of lil baby was muffled which was kinda weird.
