I was fortunate to be born in this generation of music, Baby boomers, we had the real music, real sound from real instruments, nothing fake about it. I am sure our music will be here through the end. I am 69. When I was growing up until now I listen to music all the time, it's playing 24/7 in my home.

My junior year in high school (1980) a friend was killed in a car accident. His younger brother played this song at his funeral. Shortly after his brother hit “play”, while the mellow opening is still playing softly, some adult goes over and turns the volume WAY UP! We all just smiled at each other knowing what was coming!! By the end the windows in the little chapel were literally shaking! (no way, at this point, was anyone going to walk over and turn it back down). It was PERFECT, and if there is a heaven, my friend was there laughing his ass off!!!!!

I’m soon to be 78 and so grateful this was the music of my generation. My heart still soars and sings mightily when I hear the music of the 60’-70’s. I made a great Road Trip playlist which I listen to when I take my old Mercedes-Benz 450 SL out for a ride. My daughter who is 40 feels the same vibe when she takes the car for a ride and hears the music. Thanks for all you do!!!

Zeppelin refused to cut it down to 3 min for radio saying you can't take the journey in 3 min. And it is still the most requested song on FM radio. 4 of the best rock musicians at their peak! The live version at Madison Square Garden is incredible.

My husband was staring at me as I was making breakfast for his kids and his first wife. She really is a great person. There is no mention between us, which is good for the children. I asked him what he was thinking.......he said he loved how accepting I was to everyone. God, how much I loved that man.........I see his face when this song plays. I have probably listen to this song at least a couple hundred times in my years. I’m 71 now and every time I hear it I think I want to privilege. It was to be young and here. Led Zeppelin do their new songs. Definitely one of the greatest rock groups ever. Many will say the best. Not sure if you’ve done any Pink Floyd, but I really like them also.

This song bound all us boomers together....the stoners, geeks, jocks and those that never fit in any category. It was a prom theme in every high school in America much to the chagrin of administration but secretly the teachers grooved too. Doubt there will ever be a time like that again....pardon me now while i crank up my Bluetooth and relive my teen years.

I was 17 when this was released, and am almost 70 now. It sounds as good today as it did back then. I was privileged to grow up when this type of music was around - and they certainly don't make music like this today! Awesome!!!

I was a College student in the 70's when someone brought this record into our dorm room. We lost our collective minds and played it over and over until we lost consciousness. So happy to see a new generation discover and thrill to this song!

I played "Stairway" for my mom one time back in the day, I opened the album so she could read the lyric's and as she listened and read she started to cry. I'm 44 and my Dad turned me into a Led Hed years ago. He had ZoSo tattooed on his shoulder. I was raised on the good ish. He was from California and looked like John Lennon. Hendrix, Led, Beatles, Black Sabbath, etc. I was named before a certain Fleetwood Mac song came out. I'll forever cherish my Dads concerts he put on for me~ Lost him tragically in 2017

I was in 2nd grade when the local rock radio stations started playing Stairway to Heaven. It blew my little mind! Conquering the solo on guitar was one of the greatest feelings I've ever had.

Imagine living in the 70's like i did and you hear this on radio on average at least 3 to 5 times per week. And the cherry on top is that you knew that 10s of thousands of people were listening at the very same moment. It was a mind blowing time. ORGASMIC❤❤❤

In the mid 70s I was in Albequerque pursuing a wild partying lifestyle,I had dropped some windowpane and gone to a nearby nightclub for some entertainment.Like all clubs there at the time it was a combination liquor store in front,then bar with game room,dance floor and jukebox, then pizza parlor in back. As I entered the bar section I noticed that "Stairway to Heaven" was just beginnig to play on the jukebox. The only people in there with me was a couple on the dance floor. They were dressed in casual ballet attire, she in a yellow ballet dress,not a tootoo,and he in black tight pants and a purple pirate shirt. They were just starting a very elegant slow ballet in perfect sync with the new Led Zeppelin masterpiece. As the song progressed the ballet increased in pace and power,and I began to experiance the full effect of the chemicals that I had done before coming into the bar. Before long they were dancing feverishly around the small dance floor spinning in tight circles and flying through the air ,leaving purple and yellow tracks and patterns in my adled mind. I was the only one to see it and was awestruck by it and now whenever I hear the song I can see the strange couple performing that magnificent ballet. What a trip! Peaceful Servant in Odessa Texas

I was in my teens when Led Zeppelin put this out. I bought the vinyl, and this became #1 on my list. I was at a stage in my life where I didn't know what I would do in life. This song taught me I could choose which way I could go. It changed my life forever. I still tear up listening to it. In 3 days I am turning 71. I have been married for 46 years to my sweetheart. I have two wonderful children and two lovely granddaughters. If not for Stairway to Heaven, I don't know. It took hold of me and never let go. Still my number 1.

Almost every hard core rocker understands the majesty of this song and Led Zeppelin. They are rock n roll royalty for sure right up there with The Doors, The Rolling Stones, Deep Purple and The Who. Before the American hair bands came on the scene, it was all UK for great rock. Van Halen then entered the scene.

A lot of songs have single instrument solos to show how good a single instrument is. This song has SO many different instruments playing "solo" at the same time. And they all work together so well. Still shows them all off individually, but they are amazing as a total musical sound.

The first time I saw them live was in my home town in San Diego, it was 1973 or 74 can’t remember. It was my boyfriend his best friend and me riding their Harley’s down the freeways to the convention center. We snuck 1/2 pints of Jack in our boots. After the concert we went to the beach and partied with a bunch of other Led Zeppelin fans with bonfires up and down the beach. Totally legal back then. So much crazy fun that night. Jimmy page would play his guitar with a violin bow and everyone was in such awe. I saw them 2 more times live and I feel so lucky I grew up in the 70’s the greatest rock legend ever.

My mom saw LZ in Vancouver before they were big. They opened for Vanilla Fudge. I think it was in 1968 or 69. She always says this when this song comes on. Every Sunday I take my mom out for brunch. On the way back we drive through the farm lands near her house. Its nice and slow. We talk and just chill. I always put on Stairway to Heaven for her. Its her favourite song. She is in the twilight of her life now. I think of only her now when I hear this song. I know I wont be able to listen to it after she isnt here anymore. But for now I can and do with her. I saw Led Zeppelin in 1973, first American tour. Our Civic Arena has a roof that opens. And that is what they did at the end of this song. They released white doves into the night sky. What a great time to grow up! Miss the seventies.
