Hello, Here is the second video in a series to go through my full production pipeline on the Polyend tracker. There is a lot to cover so I hope you stick around, or watch the videos that best suit you. I've been using Trackers since the Amiga days and I recently got a Polyend Tracker, and I must say your tutorials on it are absolutely the best around.

Awesome Blair, you are in for some fun i tell you. Make sure you on the latest firmware and get those samples. Still recording the melody vid as the more I go to explain the more i find out that nes music came from a broad set of composers.

Hey! Thanks for these videos. Just working through them now. I wanted to note -- the downloaded sample pack is somewhat different than in the video. The available percussion samples are different, and the Breaks are missing entirely.

I hope you will reply, but I am curious about how you format other time signatures. Most beats are in 4/4, and the spaces needed to make a quarter note for example is obvious. But what if I want to write something in 6/8? I don't know if I articulated this properly, but I just don't know how to format time signatures other than 4/4 in a tracker.

Cheers for the question Cav, this is where a bit of math comes in as we can change the resolution of the beat. The tracker's steps are usually set to be just a quarter note (4 steps to a beat). you can adjust the spacing. I''ll need to check in the menus where you can move the lines that is every 4 steps, however if you want the lines to represent 8th notes, set the value to 2 with a 2 step beat resolution or double speed the bpm to get 8th notes with 4 step beat resolution. You see a lot of trackers go at double speed to get more resolution. now to get the 6/8 bars you need to count out the step beat resolution. so with the double speed example you need 4x6 which is 24 steps per bar. keeping 4 bars to a pattern you would end up with 96 steps per pattern. this can be a bit to get started with however i really enjoy playing with odd timings with trackers. you can also use the tempo effect to make complex swing patterns. Hope this helps
