Watch a video called "How I Learned Norwegian!" another yT language channel called recommended it as the best video and it really is very very thorough! And applies to any language. The woman got fluent really fluent in like 2 years.

It's so incredible that there are people out there who can attain the proficiency in 11 languages. It shows that he's dedicated a lot of time to this process. Hopefully, I'll be able to one day speak at least 5 languages.

Hi Jennifer and Luca! Thanks a lot for this fascinating lesson! Way back when I was at school in the '80s and the early and mid '90s, the Internet was in its infancy. Studying was as dry as dust without modern technology. Mainly, we just went through different kinds of exercises in our exercise book. The Internet is a powerful tool for learning a foreign language, English, for example. Once in a while, I have had a chance to do customer service in English. I take it as a positive challenge. I make mistakes, but I can get my message across and help the customer. I don't let my mistakes bother me too much. I really liked this lesson, it was like a breath of fresh air!

I'm currently trying to learn Spanish, and I'm going through that struggle of wanting to try to speak more, but my mind goes blank. Other times when I'm to myself I find myself In my head putting together sentences, then checking google translate to see if I'm accurate lol. Some days when I don't feel like reading material in Spanish or learning or have doubts in the back of my mind, videos like this motivates me to keep going, learning from other people's experiences.

When I retiired, i lesrnt Castilian online, then flew to Madrid. That was in 2015. Since then, I have spent most of my time in Europe. I already hsd French, added Basque, then Croatian, followed up by Romanian. The difficult part is that everybody speaks English. Trilingual is normal. I do quite well when people ask me for directions in the street.

It’s very true what Luca said … if you’re feeling anxious, nervous, mad etc. Don’t expect of your brain the highest performance. If we look at the physiology of stress reactions the blood is not flowing as well as when you feel relaxed and calm. In the other words your energy, the emotions you feel meter!

Same thing happen to me learning how to operate a Manual truck. 4 yrs of people showing me how to double clutch. It was so frustrsting . I thought o would never be able to drive this manual transmission big rig.Then One day i was by myself and i just got the technique!!!. It was like a light bulb. I approch language the same way. I am learning spanish now at 50yrs old...i officially live in Florida now.

Do you have any opportunities to talk with many foreigners via online? Actually, I can listen to the teacher's talk at the English class, but I have some trouble with understanding at the real world.

Thank you for creating these potcats, as the saying goes I kill two birds with one stone, listen to the pronunciation and pause the video to see the spelling and the vocabulary, It's more practical this way than with grammar and endless lists of phrases, everything has to be done with balance. Thanks Luca and Jennifer for this video, that is exactly my situation I’ve been living en The USA for more than 20 years now and still not be able to speak the language 😡😡 I feel so angry and frustrated because I’d really like to speak the language, I work for an American company, I hear English all the time and I just can’t does as I wish to. Just yesterday we had a meeting ando I felt so anxious and nervous and I understood almost nothing and you have no idea how bad a felt 😢 so please how can you helpe me . I tired feeling like this .
