Polymer Clay Project: Ocean Bubbles Earring Tutorial

In this tutorial I'll show you how to create a translucent bubble cane and then I'll show you how to turn that can into a beautiful pair of earrings. The project is easy and fun. You can create many different backings to place the translucent cane slices on top. Have fun and be creative.

When i was about 15, my flute teacher gave me a bracelet her daughter had made. The pearls were exacly this design! I remember that the outer layer was dark blue, the filler in the middle was yellow, and i think the bubbles were orange? I don't know exactly. I had always wondered how she did it. I loved that bracelet, too bad a bully threw it away... maybe I can try and remake it some day!

I'm wondering if you've seen the technique that card makers are using with foil and alcohol inks? It could give some interesting results on clay

@@JessamaTutorials The end result depends on how you add and how much you add and how dry/wet the ink is when you put the foil on. The nails foils normaly you have a special glue with them. But you put them between clay , isn’t that gonna sepparate or is it like the gold or silver ?

The foils are on a baking. When I burnish the foil to the clay and rip the foil off it separates from the backing, leaving only the foil on the clay.

They adhere the same as gold or silver leaf, and will not come off.

Wonderful!!!!! I d like to ask you 1) what is that liquid you used to shine? I use resin of 2systatics. But I like this you use. And 2) don' t you bake it? It's enough just cover it with this liquid?? I am from Greece snd I dont speak English very well.

Yes. I did bake it for an hour before putting the Magic Gloss resin on top.
