Today’s tutorial will be a leftover polymer clay feather cane. This technique can be used with proper clay, but works just as well with leftovers. So let’s get started.

Even though you had trouble explaining what you were doing, the demonstration was easy to follow. It seems quite simple, but the result is lovely. I would have liked to see a nice closeup though.

Great technique, Samantha! I was getting tired of making only Natasha beads with my leftovers (altho they ARE pretty). And I *love* feathers. This one looks so easy to create, you've explained it so well. Can't wait to try it. Thanks so much!

Brilliant, Samantha. That's an impressive result from some scrap cane. I need ideas for scrap. It was also a good lesson in cane reduction and how to avoid distortion which I've found problematic. Your hand actions speak for themselves. Very clear. Well done. 👏🏻👌🏻👍🏻

You explained everything beautifully. You presented such a simple yet elegant technique for making feather canes from leftover clay that it seems my leftover clay stash will be my next project. Kudos to you for demystifying making feather canes. Your calm videos are always a treat. TFS!!!

Thanks so much for your tutorials. You make seemingly difficult or confusing techniques so clear and easy to understand. Also, thanks for the info on Soufflé. I've debated for a while whether I should try it, as my resources are rather limited and I can't afford to waste them on something I can't use. But you've sold me on it! I love the texture appearance. It looks like smooth leather. And I love the fact that it's so easy to cut without distortion even when it's warm. On top of that, I love, love your work. It's beautiful!

Your feather cane is lovely and you make it appear so simple. 3 or 4 hanging from a bit of chain would make nice earrings with movement. Same for a necklace. I have a dear friend that adores feathers, I may create her a set for an unexpected gift. Thank you for the inspiration. I have another friend that is fond of spiders and spider webs. Go figure. If you have a technique for making a spider web cane I would be interested. Thank you for all you to do keep your many fans inspired.

I will be showing some projects in the future. A lot of the time these canes can sit for months before I use them. I've got quite a backlog of them so that I have the right cane for the right time. If I ever do use these canes I've shown on tutorials I'll be sure to show off the results, but that could take a while. :D

So cool. I have to make a few eye canes for a children's out reach program. This method would make some crazy eyes. I'd only have to insert a and black and white bulls eye cane. I have plenty of scrapes. Thanks

Thank you for such an easy feather cane!! This is by far the easiest feather cane I have ever seen. One question about the “Lucy Blade.” It seem to slice that cane wonderfully. Where do I get a Lucy blade?

Would you tell us in which situations you would not use the Soufflé clay?
@JessamaTutorials
@JessamaTutorials 5 жыл бұрын
I don't like to use souffle if I want to sand my piece to a high shine as the clay won't allow this. Other than that though I think it work in just about any situation.
