Debbie, I am simply enthralled with your videos! I can't wait for my beginner's supplies to get to me from various places. You mentioned a couple of times in this video how the scrapping can be used to make beads. Would it be possible for you to show us how that's done in a future video? Also, as a beginner, do you think I can start on this path without having a pasta machine (I have purchased an acrylic roller that is somewhere in transit)? Thank you again for your wonderful videos and awesome ideas!
@debbiecrothers14 жыл бұрын
Hi Betsi, so good to hear from you again and can't thank you enough for your lovely comment. Yes I did mention how to create beads using the left overs of your chalks and you'll find it in one of my free tutorials. I'm linking my website here and you'll find the whole range of free tutorials here. www.debbiecrothers.com/ You can absolutely get by without a pasta machine in the beginning but to be honest I bet you'll end up wanting one sooner rather than later. Many people use the "card system" where you simply place the same number of cards either side of your clay and roll until your clay is the thickness of the cards. You can buy depth guides but they can be expensive and I think a little unnecessary (especially if cashflow is limited). Anyway hope this helps...let me know if there's anything else I can help you with. xx

Hi Debbie the penny just dropped (so to speak ) who you are. I would like to know if you have a website where I can get your tutorials other than craftedu? I have purchased from there before but I don't really like how it is done, not enough hands on viewing if you know what I mean. Also all the websites and you tube etc that I have come across are usually from the US, and they go on about Varathane for a gloss finish. Is it the same as Cabots polyurethane here in Australia? Sorry this is so long winded. Would love it if you could help?
@debbiecrothers18 жыл бұрын
Hey Deb, great to hear from you honey. I don't have a website where I sell tutorials - it's just another thing to try and keep up with hey and I spend way too long on here anyway. I do have a video tutorial coming out soon but can't quite give details on that yet. You can go on my mailist list for when I can if you like - all I need is your email address. As far as varnish goes I tend to stick with good old liquid clay - my go to sealer! I don't bother with all that floor stuff and waxy stuff - that's just my preference though. Hope I've been able to help - slightly!! :)

'Multics fake paper' is what CC interpreted the paper you are working on. Can't find anything close to that name. Could you please spell what the paper is? Enjoying your videos. Patricia Roberts Thompson suggested viewers to watch. Glad she did. Do you use the imitation gold leaf or the real deal? Am wondering if the imitation leaf gets dull over time. Thank you for a fun video.
@debbiecrothers16 жыл бұрын
Hey Linnea, so sorry for the late reply - have just found all these messages. The paper is Multix-bake paper and is just like baking paper. I use the imitation gold leaf too and find that it works great. I have noticed the imitation leaf dulls on raw clay over time so I just make sure I use it up before it starts to change. So glad you enjoyed the video and I must remember to thank Patricia when I chat with her next. xx
