15mg Prednisone worked well for me however it worked better as a split dose, 10mg in the morning (about 6am) and 5mg at night (about 10pm).

I just got diagnosed with PMR. I'm in my early 40s, White Female, from Middle Eastern background. I've been having these pains for several years now which started after an MVA, and all the neurologist, Orthopedic, and pain specialist have been blaming my pain on my injuries, and kept giving me pain meds and over 2 dozens trigger points injection and few epidurals. Eventually one of them said I had fibromyalgia and other sent me to psychiatrist. I finally took myself to cardiology and rheumatology... The latter did multiple blood tests and actually listened to all my complaints and finally gave me the diagnosis. I felt immediate mental relief the minute he walked into the room and said "It's not in your head, you are not faking this !"

I'm glad you got better I developed PMR April 6, 2018 a day that will live in infamy for me. I went to the VA ER on April 16 and got a young Dr. Blood was drawn and he prescribed Tylenol which had a absolutely no effect. VA lab records are available online for the patient to view and many things were outside normal range. I returned to the ER Sunday morning April 22. I chose that time because traffic would light and driving was not easy. This time I got an older "country doctor" type. After reviewing the lab records he gave a proper diagnosis and prescribed 10mg Prednisone. My symptoms were relieved 50% in 12 hours.
