Hi, when adding the missing terms, does it only apply to the numerator (dividend)? If the denominator (divisor ) is missing a term, do we add missing term to it?

There is no need to add 0 terms to missing terms in the divisor. Just make sure every time you multiply, you line up like terms vertically.
