There's a resson why those of us who have entered his orbit are so hard to pull out of it. There is your musical life Before Zappa and your musical life After Zappa. If you arent into jazz he will be your gateway to jazz, if you arent into prog he will be your gateway to prog, if you arent into doo-wop he will be your gateway to doo-wop, if you aren't into weirdo avant garde electronica he will be your gateway into weirdo avant garde electrinica. Too hard edged for the jazz scene, too far progressed for the progressive rock mainstream, always a freak but never a hippie, chasing down trends with a razor for a tongue and murder in his eyes. RIP FVZ. You died a year before I was born but your legacy will never die.
