Polyurea Spraying over Geotextile sealing a crack inside a Tank. Spraying an Aromatic Polyurea using a Graco AP Spray Gun made light work of this little project. Blast It Clean It Paint It prepared the surface by abrasive blasting followed by applying a primer with a Geotextile to help provide the bridge cracking required to seal the bottom of the tank. Sandblasting provided the best surface preparation for this tank. Rapid cure provided the perfect solution for this problem. Australian Urethane Systems Polyeuro 5502 was the ideal choice for this repair project on this Sydney Water Asset.

Depends on which Country you asking to obtain the material from. There are pool polyureas now but we personally stay away from applying it in these environments. You might be best sourcing a company who has the equipment to apply it for you.

Awesome demonstration. Can this material be sprayed out of any sprayer or are there some specifics??? I have a bunch of hesco barriers to paint and this seems like the best material that I've found thus far to apply. They are used for the county shooting range.

Nice spraying technique -can I ask what mix chamber was he using in the Air Purge ? Was it a flat pattern or normal cone pattern - it looks flat pattern? Also what reactor were you using ? Thanks and great job

The Mix Chamber from memory was an AR2929 due to the confine of the tank. Graco EXP-2 was the machine spraying this material.

You may want to protect better from the over spray next time at the top of the tank area. Holiday testing completed?

+Glockners985 The Client did not want protection from over-spray as this would have taken additional time. This tank was critical for Waste Treatment Plant & were more concerned with getting it back in operation. Holiday testing was completed then the motors were reinstalled & went straight back into service. We have completed many more emergency repairs since this was a successful & time efficient repair.

If you are asking from the USA just Google Polyurea Distributors in your state & it will come up. You must the necessary equipment to carry it out. You might want to find out who does this in your local area.

Can it be used to protect drinking water tanker?

Yes it can but please check with your coating manufacturer to ensure that it has the appropriate certification for this. This also should show up on the Product Data Sheet that they can provide you. Once again please follow the manufacturers guidlines on surface preparation & application rates. Hope this helps? All the best with your project.

What will you used for a diesel tank?

We have used in a Diesel Tank with no problems but we consulted with our supplier what was the best material to use prior to the application of Polyurea. I would suggest that it would be good to contact a supplier in your region to find out what is suitable & what they are requiring as Surface Preparation. Always ask questions.

This can be used for both anti abrasion & sealing/waterproofing

This will be dependent on what you are spraying. On average 2-3mm. Always check with your coating manufacturer

You need to check with the manufacturer in your country that you purchase material from. They would be best to seek advise from as different materials can achieve different results
