Pomni mourns Gummigoo's death at a funeral in New Amazing Digital Circus Sneak Peek

Did you know this in the amazing digital circus?
Yesterday glitch posted an image celebrating episode 2 reaching 50 million views in only 4 days.
In the image we can see the cast celebrating by eating various types of sweets. However in the background we can see pomni putting a picture of gummi gu beside kaufmo’s memorial to remember his death.
I think this is both sad and a little funny. I don’t think the team was expecting gummi gu to be as popular as he was, so this is a way to commemorate him. I really do hope that gummi returns in a future episode, though with how long animation takes to make it’ll probably be one of the later episodes in the season.

It makes sense why Pomni put a portrait of him next to Kaufmo, considering she built a very nice friendship with him back in the Circus’ backrooms. Shame we probably won’t see this friendship develop any further though :(

I think he might return sooner if his merch sells a lot. Maybe for added cruelty, his memory will be reset and if he return, he wont remember Pomni.

@@Emmerlaus007idk if that’ll be true bc the creator of the show Gooseworx said she already made the script for the rest of the season so Gummigoo might not be in most of them right now unless Gooseworx gets pushed to add some modifications.

@@jamesvarela233 Money and success is a big motivator. If Gummygoo doesn't make a return, those who bought Gummygoo merch will be extra pissed. The two Gummygoo merch that they have in store right now is like 100$ together in total. It will feel like a huge waste of money for those who bought them (and feel like it's a cash grab) if he doesn't come back. And it's never a good idea to alienate your audience.

Unless Gooseworx had already included gummigoo in the script for one of the next couple episodes, we won’t be seeing him again for a *long* time (if at all). Edit: what I mean to say is that Gooseworx confirmed the scripts for the first 4 episodes were locked in before the pilot even released. No matter how popular Gummigoo is, they sadly can’t change any future episodes to include him. That is, unless they were already planning on including him in a future episode.

@@Panickedpossum Considerin' the reception to Gummigoo & his "death" (Caine became some people's least favorite character 'cause of that incident ALONE), if Jax were to do somethin' to him, I think even some of the STRONGER Jax fans may bail on the character. These people do NOT mess around about Gummigoo & it's.....kinda wild

The team knew exactly how attached to him people would get because that was the point. The viewer was supposed to become as attached to Gummigoo as Pomni was, just to make the viewer feel at least some of how Pomni was feeling when she saw someone who she just bonded with a lot be turned into confetti.

I think they were expecting gummigoo to be popular. But I think they were because not only did they make a plush of him but Gooseworx said episode 2 was gonna introduce new characters that were gonna start ship wars. After the trailer every one thought it was gonna be the princess and Ragatha, but not I think it was Gummigoo and Pomni that was being referenced

I think they did expect him to be popular, given the release of merchandise of him to coincide with the episode release. It's a very calculated marketing move: make a character that illicits sympathy, kill him off unceremoniously in the same episode, and sell merch of him when emotions are high right after people finish watching (buy plush to hug, then buy the rest of the cast so he won't be alone, ect)

It will actually be interesting if Gunmigoo does return without memories of Pomni. It would fit with the existential themes. Pomni does mean memory, after all.

I think if the team ever goes back to the candy kingdom Gumi will be there but "rebooted", with none of his memories. We saw his prefab under the map, so when our Gumi was destroyed the game probably just made a new one. It would be interesting to see how Pomni reacts to a person who looks like her friend but with none of his memories

Am I the only one who just wants serious deaths back? I’m kinda getting a little tired of goofy deaths I don’t mind goofy deaths for goofy villains but goofy deaths on characters who aren’t villains and characters that we got attached to like Sir Pentious and Gummigoo who died in goofy ways, I wish animated characters got serious deaths again, I miss those days. All that aside, can’t wait for EP3 eventually! And that was a nice detail of Pomni also honoring Gummigoo as well!

I think it would be too soon for a serious death in this series. They need to be more developed so it can be taken more seriously. It could be also that it supposed to drive pomni more insane further into the episodes. But to be fair, I can totally understand you, I mean I didn't watch Hazbin Hotel but numerous clips, reviews and the explanation of the whole plot, including the death of Sir pentious. Which was honestly quite insulting to his whole arc! Odd tonal shifts can totally mess up with the moment, it just takes you out of the tension..

Sir Pentious death was played off as a joke intentionally. Gummigoo was intentionally killed off unceremoniously however it wasn't treated as a joke, far from it. I wasn't really mad with how he died because of that.

Loved gummigoo in my opinion the best character in the episode (except gangle) but! I think there is a reference in hazbin hotel episode 6. Adam list on how to get in to heaven has stick it to the man. And Alex bright who voices Adam has a song called stick it to the man! So that’s probably a reference. But idk. Also. Vid idea maybe???

Pomni felt much closer to Gummigoo than with Kaufmo. She felt more like Kaufmo’s replacement rather than anything else. I can already tell that Goose is definitely going to bring Gummigoo back later, but it won’t be the same. He won’t remember her. The Gummigoo she met and befriended “died”. And just the thought of that breaks her heart. Because the others at the circus feel more like her acquaintances/coworkers rather than her friends. Gummigoo was her first official friend. And Caine took him away. I feel really bad for her.

as someone who’s worked in character design and storyboarding, they ABSOLUTELY knew what they were doing. bad guy character who goes through life altering event, and has a chance to be good? it’s like candy. (which he is, ironic) also the fact that they designed a plush of him (which takes MONTHS!!) to be ready for the release of episode two. they knew he’d be popular, like how they knew jax would
