It’s when you pee, but the stream splits in two (or on super rare occasions, three), so you have multiple streams of pee going in different directions. Often times there’ll be one going straight forward and another stream going almost 90 degrees from it.

It is indeed a mistake you make only once. That's the day you discover that some toilet bowls are less accomodating than others. From then on, you remember to tuck. As for split streams, I have some sage advice for you guys; check your gun for bore obstruction before pulling the trigger. A good way of doing this is pinching around the tip gently. I was taught this trick as a child and have never suffered from a split stream.
