I bought the Oase Pondovac 4 about 6 months ago and used it for the first time yesterday. All I can say is “WOW”. I love it. Thanks for the video and all the tips. I tried using it on my extremely dirty pond laden with oak leaves and unfortunately I had to drain and refill, but I will gladly use the pondovac regularly to keep my pond sparkling clean from today forward. It’s an excellent machine, great suction, able to return vacuumed / filtered water back into pond, and able to vacuum pond and drain unit simultaneously. Highly recommend.

I just bought a Pondovac 4 and it will not pick up leaves from our pond...at the 1 foot depth area. I've tried everything to get it to pick up leaves, but it won't. Any secret tips?

I need help. I bought the Bermuda pondi vacuum off facebook market and it is in good condition. But when I turn the vacuum on within 5 seconds it turns off. It doesn't even matter if hose is in water or not, then I thought it was the plug, but tried another and still the same.

My Pondovac 4 sucks like crazy, then when it seems like it is full, the suction drops massively whilstt it empties. Once it empties it gives me the powerful suction again but the cycle repeats, is that normall? Or should it have the same level of high suction all the time?

Since the water can not be filtered, the vacuum cleaner does what a cheap pump does. We tested 3, starting from a very basic to the most expensive Tornado and now they gather dust in the shed. In swimming ponds robots can do good job though.

When i do a water change, i use a 1-3/4" hose with a vacuum nozzle. I attach the hose to my skimmer and direct all suction to the skimmer. I turn the valve to "waste" and vacuum the bottom of the pond using the suction from the skimmer, straight out the waste line. Thank You for reading.

Hi, please can you help , Just used one for first time on big pond. It sucks all the stuff up fine , but as I want to save the water back to pond I put the mesh bag on but it fills with water as well as rubbish so needs constant emptying which is annoying and really heavy and wasting the water. Am I doing something wrong ? Thanks
@thep0ndman
@thep0ndman Жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for the comment. No it just depends on how much debris you are removing. What ever comes out the pond will end up in the bag. If you have a slope leading up to the pond, you could position the vac higher up, take off the bag and even the waste hose, let all the rubbish gather on the grass, then all the water will trickle back into the pond…

Looked at a pond vacuum. Then saw the prices.. Ludicrous expenditure.. certailny so for my backyard pond. So I Used my Shop vac.. Which worked !! perfectly Even sucked up Rocks.. LOTS of power. Only drawback was that it needed repeated dumping as it was ony a 10 gallon tank.

nice vid. i am a plumber and wanted to use this whilst im working on live water pipes whilst it discharges. could you please tell me if it has powerful suction compared to a wet vac. My 30 litre wet vac fills up in 2 minutes with powerful mains water from a tap but then it doesnt always give me enough time to work as it needs emptying. do you know roughly how long it would take to fill up these oase 4 or 5 to fill up the vac, so then i can determine if the suction is powerful enough for what i need it for. i have looked up the litres per hour which is say 8000per hour, which would mean 133 per minute / 2.2 per second, and most wet vacs suck say 60 litres per second, so i just dont know whether to buy 1 i have called oase customer services and they couldnt really answer. If you feel the suction does it feel as powerful as something like a henry vaccum or a wet vac. if someone could help me with this i would really appreciate as its taking me days to try and find the answer and have watched so many youtube vids and there are no shops that i can test it out....thannnnnk you very much hope that all makes sense !!!
@thep0ndman
@thep0ndman Жыл бұрын
60 litres per sec is 216000 lph which is stronger than industrial mud pumps so I doubt Henry can do that. But I have used my vac to suck out and unblock a couple of old dishwashers etc and worked well but you could always to an aquatic shop to test. Don’t forget it also depends on the lift it can generate not just the initial pull cheers

@@thep0ndman thanks alot i appreciate the reply...actually i just checked and henry is 31 litres per second and general wet vacs are like 60 lps. mine actually is titan ttb351 and onlne it says Air flow 88Ltr/sec...i mentioned henry as just so some1 could sort of compare the suction of the pondovac to a henry as might not have felt a wetvac suction before.. then i can try to work it out... does the pondovacs suction feel similar to henry , or like half, quarter ? this would be very helpful for me to decide as iv called my local aqua places and they say they do not have demos and im in london there are not many..i am only sucking out pure water from the mains tap wter no blockages or anything so i am mainly looking for a strong suction not lifting... I heard the pondovac 5 has a pumped discharge unlike all the others which are gravity,...thanks very much if you can help answer that i would really appreciate.

It can but it depends on how large you mean, clumps of it are ok. It doesn’t like sticks over 3 inches or so, stones marble size or bigger or heavy silt with little water content. The more water the better it runs

As a pond cleaning professional I have to disagree with you on this one. The pondovac 5 is a much better piece of kit. For the ability to pump uphill/over fence along its worth it. The debris bag is easy to clean/change. But for domestic use a pondovac 3/4 would be fine.

Thanks for the comment. Cor some of the jobs we do we would constantly be emptying the bag 😂 For almost 800 notes it shouldn’t have a bag Oase have gone backwards and charge twice for it. Good if works for you 👍

@@thep0ndmanhey that’s what I thought too. I don’t have time to change bags. I’ve attached a water pump externally to my wet vacs discharge port. But I have to stop when it’s full, and turn on the pump. I just want to be able to do it continuously! I change a large water feature for my Asian water monitor lizard almost daily.

@@suzannemoran7281 take a length of pipe about the same depth as the water level in your pond. Attach a 90 or 45 degree elbow piece to the end and the drill a hole in the top of that which is similar diameter to the airline. Pass the airline through this hole until it comes out the bottom of the pipe and then attach your air stone. Pull the airline back through so that the air stone is inside the bottom of the pipe. Then attach a filter sock to the elbow and connect the airline to your air pump. You’ll need to be able to remove the filter sock for cleaning so don’t permanently attach it. Hope this makes sense.
