Exactly and you can still get one around 50,000 miles cheap I'm about to find 2 supercharged buicks extremely low miles and just preserve one in my garage no joke in the next 1 to two decades people will be collecting gs supercharged regals, the gmc cyclone, and typhoon were others that sky rocketed.

@@605BOLT I think people just don't expect much from these cars. They probably think it's a N/A V6 or some slow gm car with a jimmy rigged supercharger. I was letting an Evo X merge about a month ago on the highway while me being in cruise control. He stayed at my speed right next to me in the slow lane for a good 20 seconds before I finally punched it to get past him. We were close up till 90 with me being ahead because I took the hit. (I honestly just wanted to get past him because I hate other cars beside me on the highway) He then let off after that. Not sure if he got scared he would lose or his check engine light came on. (being an Evo lol) Regardless, he did not expect me to even come close to competing with him.

Idk firm numbers on the regal. The Firehawk is bone stock. The regal had lots of nice mods so it pulls pretty good like you say. Once it gets traction it moves pretty good. Both of the cars are my buddy Joe's cars. The regal is his daily and the Firehawk is the date car. Both fun in their own way.

Ya it needs some soft, sticky tires too. That supercharged engine makes a good amount of torque so it's hard to launch well.

New rubber for sure. Just blows those all seasons away. A converter would help some too but it's a daily so I kind of doubt he will take it that far. That car makes some great low end torque for what it is. Just can't hardly use it with the tires and being FWD. I want to get more vids of it soon. 🤞🤞

Man I would disagree. C5Z I have been around and getting an engine out of that thing sucks because of the torque tube not being able to slide back enough to get off the clutch. Would much rather drop a k member on a firebird to pull an engine than do the same on a Corvette. To each their own though. Both are badass rides.

Build the trans, higher stall converter so the car can leave in boost, and toss a good number of ZZP parts at the engine and tune, and he'd be walking quite a few other "fast" vehicles alot easier. Talking outta my booty, 🤔 Nope. When I was in my late 20s, I'm 40 now, my car at the time broke down (92 sc300/5sp), and I didn't have the money to fix it. So, I sold it for $3000 and bought a 98 GTP coupe w/ sunroof. Within the first 10 seconds of owning the car, Id found the TC Off button. 😈. 3 seconds later I'd found out that that V6 could move like a motherfucker 😍. Left dual black stripes on the pavement until the trans shifted, and it STILL chirped the hell outta them on THAT shift. Stock. I'd also started from a standing turn. But yeah, it'd smoke the hell outta the front tires whenever I smashed the Pedal. Car felt solid too. And the black leather was mmmmm mmmm soooo good, brother. The stereo too kicked ass. Anyway, learned that ZZP made go fast parts for it. Saw the prices, almost shit my draw'rs, but saved the pennies from uncle Sam for that year, yup I was broke so I got an income tax lol, and spent that tax payer money on upgraded supercharger, cams, injectors, tune, another tune, blah blah blah. Nitto nt555r (yup I'm old enough to remember when these bitches were considered good lol) and low tire pressure, and from a star t or a roll, that smooth looking coupe would beat the dog shit outta trans ams, z28s, ls1s mind you, and all sorts of imports. And it still had ac, a sick stereo system, and those nice factory 5 spoke rims. Lowered her a little with eibach springs. That's all. Sold it after 1 year of "oooooh-weee" fun.

I don't know for sure as I didn't build this regal. It's my buddies car. If I was you, I would save some coin and wait around for a clean regal or grand prix gtp or something and buy that when I can. Then start nodding from there.

I see. Ya I don't know if those 3800 engines are the exact same on the base models vs the GS/X. They might be. If its a clean car, I'm always in favor of grabbing one of those. Hard to find in good condition. I don't know what the swap would cost you. For example though, SVT Lightning pickups and regular F150 pickups can have 5.4L V8s in them from Ford. You can just throw a swap onto the regular F150 but the Lightning 5.4 has different pistons in it. Its lowers compression and they aren't a high quality piston (sadly) but it is a difference. I can't speak on the slight differences between a supercharged 3800 and base 3800 (if any). Maybe they are the exact same. I just don't know. The swap kit to take off a Lightning usually runs around 2500-3000 dollars so I would expect the cost to be similar on a 3800.

The L36 (your engine) and the L67 (GS engine) pretty much only share the block and maybe crankshaft in common. Different heads, cams, pistons, rods, essentially anything that gives the 3800 its great reputation is on the L67. Transmission is different too, the GS has stronger axles, a stronger differential, and said differential is a shorter gear ratio. To be completely honest, trying to build a base model Regal is pointless when a GS, Grand Prix GT, Impala SS, or anything else with an L67 can be found for about the same as a base model in the used market.

Oh it would fly I bet. Nice thing is it has a flat powerband so it doesn't suffer as much from few forward gears as some rigs do. But it wouldn't hurt!!!

It took a heavily modded ST to beat a heavily modded GS. They're basically both modded the same amount the way I see it. One has a blower swap and another has a turbo swap.
