What I like and dislike about some Pony Jorgensen clamps.
I've spent a fortnight getting to know a selection of clamps, and comparing them with those I've used over the past couple of decades.

Mitch thank you for such a thoughtful review! You just cost me a bunch of money buying these things, but I appreciate you’re option so much!!

I sure hope you'll be pleased with them, and come back to share your view. But, as I always advise, if you're not then send them back -- nothing worse than holding on to a tool which when you use it you wish you hadn't bought it. I learnt that early on, still have them, and never use them.

Nice review, thanks for sharing. Love the feature to link the quick clamps - and the little face peeking over the bench!

Thanks, great review. I just picked up five Jorgensen 48" parallel clamps from Lowe's (USA). Going to be using them to build my workbench with 2x4 laminated top. So far they are excellent, high quality and heavy duty.

Great, good luck with the bench. They're not cheap, but they're worth it in my opinion.

Excellent review. I especially like your happy assistant. Great job Uncle. Jorgenson has long been a favorite brand in my shop. I bought them when I could. Mostly at garage (boot) sales. I like the design features on the ratcheting clamps. I agree the spring clamps could benefit from having the handles closer together.

Thanks Dave. They're fairly new to the UK as far as I'm aware, and I think they'll do well here.

@@mitchwoodwork The company was sold and is now being made in China? Pakistan? Not sure. Anyway they were unavailable for a time. There was concern that the quality that the Jorgenson name embodied would go the way of the Dodo. I haven't seen any of them in the stores I frequent. It's good that you are reviewing them. I don't think I will get a box sent to me for testing though. Most of the tools I use and abuse are from companies that are no longer in business. 😆😎

Scary that China can now manufacture really well, but still cheaper than UK and US

Thanks for the review and your highly skilled thumbs up/down guy, Mitch. I've always had the same thoughts as you about the hand clamps and wondered why someone can't come up with a better design.

Any tips to putting the round rubber head back on to the POJ3712HD sliding side? Unfortunately while I was clamping a narrow work piece the rubber piece did pop off and I have been unable to put it back on. Most any suggestions are welcome, thanks!

I'm wondering if the style has changed as I just went to check and was able to remove and replace easily. Mine just slide in at a slight angle and pop on.

@@mitchwoodwork It was the spring clamp, but I've subsequently found out it is the opening size. We have some brands here that use the length of the clamp from the end of the handle to the end of the clamp jaw.
