@@Narrator007 That's also a good point. If they were not even further out in the ocean, how did a sea creature get even close to them? Also in the flashback I didn't see a storm, it looked liked the ship just sunk bubbling the water

@@marlablanco8853 Well, given that those flashbacks were based on ponies' faulty memories, I don't think we can trust them to be 100% accurate portrayals of those events. Even for the parts that they seemed to agree on, I'd still be a little sus about the details.
