@@SecretsTothestreets lol fuck signing, most rappers are too legally ignorant to know they getting fucked in their deals. they be signing away they masters without any care just cause they getting 3 milly up front. if you good at social media you aint need to get signed, radio isn't where the money at anymore. it's not even streaming, it's touring. Yeat aint signed (he did a 1mil deal for a track once tho) and he's doing fuckin fine, Autumn! too. all you need to do is get a couple songs to blow on tiktok and you're golden as long as you continue to be consistent at it, that's exactly what's gotten yeat where he is. fuck the labels. all they do is exploit black and brown artists for their own profit, putting them into slave-tier contracts that they can't get out of, taking away their masters, and as a result their right to their own music. it's fucked up, supporting record labels is supporting POC exploitation. the wealthy white cocksuckers in these highrise offices are sucking the potential and wealth out of these young men and spitting them back out when they've sucked them dry. to any potential rappers reading this - don't take a fucking deal unless you got a lawyer to look that shit over 20 times. i know the upfront sum is attractive, but if you aint smart with your money (you don't invest some of that), that's just gonna be gone in a couple years. and then if you aint bringing in any more money, the label's gonna terminate your contract and spit you out. Don't get me wrong, there are good deals out there, and good labels, but CMG aint one. You better have a lawyer on retainer if you wanna make sure you aint getting fucked. Never hand over your masters, regardless of the deal, it almost fucked Taylor Swift, it will definitely fuck you.
