I just finished watching it. Literally reminded me of Sweeney Todd and Frankenstein with a 2023 flair. Emma did an amazing job. Great performances witty humor and just great acting all around. Willem Defoe is awesome as well.

@Christopher Bedford it was horrific, and no warning. I adore artsy movies but that experience made me quite wary. Same in Labyrinth. They showed a man being tortured in graphic detail. I thought it was a fantasy movie and had taken my 12 year old daughter because it was an advance preview with no ratings. Needless to say we walked out.

The thing about The Lobster is that it was marketed - in a deliberately misleading way - as a quirky comedy. It was no such thing. Make a movie and stand by it. Don't lie about it to fill theatre seats.
