LYRICS:
I am a poor wayfaring stranger
While traveling through, this world of woe.
But there's no sickness, toil or danger
In that bright land, to which I go.
I'm going there to see my father
I'm going there no more to roam;
I'm just a going over Jordan
I'm just a going over home.
I know dark clouds will gather round me
I know my way is rough and steep;
Yet beauteous fields lie just before me
Where God's redeemed, no more shall weep
I'm going there to see my mother
She said she'd meet me when I come;
I'm just a going over Jordan
I'm just a going over home.
I'll soon be free from earthly trials,
my body sleep in the old church yard,
I'll drop the cross of self denial and enter in my great reward,
I'm going, I'm going there to see my savior
I'm going there no more to room,
I'm just a going over jordan.
I'm just a going over home.
Over Home, Over Home.....I'm just a going over home.
Music is so powerful it needs to be used for redeeming work, to lift people's spirits and lift their souls. Hope you find some of this in my music.

Falsetto is for either boy or girl it's when you song with out actually using your actual voice so basically singing with you throat instead of chest like how Frankie Valli hits those high notes

My dad died when I was 3. Mom raised seven of us all alone. I heard this first right after you released it and I have gone back to it over and over. Now I have four kids of my own and my mom has been dead for 5 years as well. Seems like I have a pretty friendly relationship with my own mortality and I think this song conveys it well. Thank you so much for recording it.

This song is such a mix of emotions for me. The last thing I did with my girlfriend before she broke up with me out of the blue was show her this video, and that horrible night is in the back of my mind when I watch this video. The song is so sad too. However, this is the most beautiful a capella song I've ever heard so it brings me happiness too.

Life is precious and very fragile, please cherish every moment, and never miss an opportunity to say I love you.

Actually, it's both. Like nearly all a cappella music in the last several years, this song was tracked with each vocalist doing their part alone. The individual (doubled) tracks were then digitally edited - though very, very little, as the caliber of the vocalists meant they were pretty well spot on to start with - and then mixed together. We did, however, sing it live while recording the video... wish that audio recording had survived!!

While I can enjoy this arrangement, I'll just go ahead and say it: Whoever mixed this album (Weather to Fly) ought to be shot at dawn. Congratulate him/her for me for Melodyne'ing every ounce of humanity out of most of the tracks. It's atrocious decision making on how much pitch correction was used in this album, and Ward (whom I knew and worked with a bit) would have had a cow. His philosophy was The Human Voix in differing settings. Human. Not robot. Back away from the daw plugins please. Let the music breath and sound human again. Even if slightly imperfect. Real voices do not sound like this precise. If there is no imperfection there is no thrill, and this arrangement ends up being boring if you care about singing, not simply about a harmonic progression.
