@@SorryCharlie831 LA and Atlanta been on the take over and now even Detroit got their foot in the door with a unique sound. 22gz is cool for NY but he ain’t tailored to have a palatable sound with his subject matter. JoeyBada$$ is fire but too classic not enough grime. Pop was like the next 50. Had the transitions, flows, grimey bars for the hood, inspirational bars for the youth, hooks and chorus to soften the rawness for suburb listeners to sing along with. Could’ve done it all if someone had jumped on bro quicker and teach em how to move being at that level. Moving around in the hood and moving around being famous are similar but so very different

Im sadden by his death he was host getting started and the throne to NYC Hip Hop is empty . NYC needs a young king to sit on the throne to bring hip hop back to NY as the central focus . Jay Z is a billionaire he no longer focus on the streets. Nas multimillionaire he focused on hus portfolio . DMX is dead . Bobby Shmurda is focused on staying out of prison while on probation so he is going to be very low key in the media. Pop had that lane wide open he was even being groomed by 50 . I'm in the car with my daughter and I turn the station on every song,I tell her mostly everyone sounds the same. Same melody, same flow, same voice. Song comes on and I hear this voice and I tell my 16 year old now this is hip hop, listen to this guys voice, his flow, that track! he was the only person to ever come close to matching 50 cent on this beat. 1995 Eazy E dies 1996 Tupac dies 1997 biggie dies 1999 big L dies skip to recently 2018 XXXTentacion dies 2019 Nipsey Hussle dies 2020 Pop Smoke dies the list goes on.. with so much talent, taken away to early. Hip Hop would be in a completely different place right now if these guys were around today. 6 out of the 7 rappers i just named were shot and killed. In the last 23 years 48 rappers have been murdered, 44 of them were *shot and killed* the other 4 were either stabbed or run over by a car.
