Exactly. It was running live. The publicum on spot saw it on the screens. Of course, those were not holograms so looking at the stage directly wouldn't do anything.

they are not holograms it's AR. however it is done live not after, people at the venue would see the animated characters on the jumbo-trons on the left and right.

The AR was beautiful and also in real time, the audience could see it on the screen. But 1 unique thing was that they had their reflections and shadows on the stage below them. Check it.

The audience could actually see them on the screens at the events bc the animations weren’t CGI, but AR (augmented reality) p.s. only half of the group was part of a kpop group. The other two (white) girls were solo American artists.

It wasn't added before, it was animated previously and by augmented reality inserted live. In other words, every one could see the animation watching with their phones by an augmented reality app.

I think he means in-person, that AR was being broadcast to the whole stadium. Like you could point your phone at the stage and see it.

Those are two different things. Worlds 2017 used Psuedo-Hologram by projecting them on a transparent screen that covers the stage. This one is Full Real Time Augmented Reality where you can only see the characters on screen but not on the stage itself.

It is AR (Augmented Reality), but it is real time. They used special cameras to project the characters, you can see it in the screens at the back. There are some audience videos and you can see the cameraman on the stage. It is like what was used in Pokemon GO!.

The animated characters you see in this video aren't VR, but AR; the audience had special glasses to be able to see them live. Watch "Worlds Collide: The Final" from 2015 League Worlds featurette

@@DarkThirst As I know, is not the same a mobile than glasses... and you need one of them for each spectator in the stadium, and syncronize them all to see the same thing in the same exact position... As I know, there is no glasses with that technology right know, and as Dominik W. said, they didn't use anything like that in this case either.

Check the 2017 opening. Same augumented reality. And it's happening live but only we can see it. The people that are there can't. But they have 2 more panels where they show what's happening for the people there. You can see that they have a lot of cameras in their spot. The timing is really important to do this, not only for the cameramans but also for the real artists so that they can "interact" with them.

those "holograms" were actually implemented with Augmented Reality (AR), they weren't put after the recording but during the ceremony, and only people watching the stream can see them beside the live audience seeing them in the big screens on stage

It was live, people watching from home (on computers and tablets) can see the animated girls but the crowd can't, they did something similar with augmented reality last year where a large dragon appeared on the stadium!

It wasn't put in post production, it was augmented reality, the people actually there could see them on the screens above the stage but people watching from home could see them on the stage...works much like Pokémon Go

Watch Legends never die live performance by Against the Current, same technology last year at worlds. They got more popular after league of legends song. Jaira Burns and Madison Beer are now making albums I think so. They are Americans. 2 korean girls from k-pop group g-idle is also doing great k-pop songs.

The group, K/DA(this is they name), is how Riot is promoting League of Legends’ new line of character cosmetics for four champions: Ahri, Akali, Evelynn and Kai’Sa. Each champion was given a special backstory that goes with their skins, as well as a real-life counterpart during the opening ceremony at Worlds. According to the League of Legends website, Ahri and Evelynn are the lead vocalists, Kai’Sa is the main dancer and Akali is the rapper.

"I've never seen anything like that", they need to see the elder drake. The name of the group is K/DA thought, it stands for "kills, deaths, assists", and it's the way you check your score in the game. The name of the song is Pop star.

You guys should see Legends Never Die performed live during the 2017 World Championship at Beijing! That is where they used the 1st AR (Augmented Reality) of one of game's Jungle Monsters. (A little teaser but I think the comment section already spoiled it haha) But seriously its so cool that when I 1'st watched it, it made me cry.

Great reaction guys! If you go back to 2:17 of your video & look at the very tip of the stage, nearest the bottom of the screen, you will see two guys, 1 holding a camera. These 2 guys are the team holding the camera that does the work with the animated characters. So, this is happening live during the performance, not after the performance.
