We need more RC car clubs like this

What an amazing day at a new RC car track just north of London. This is what the RC car hobby needs. more tracks for people to come and drive their cars without the stress and pressure of competition. The Millend club has race meets but also has several practice sessions for drivers to develop their skills.
Situated on the grounds of a garden centre the club has access to the coffee shop and toilets as well as plenty of parking and pitting space.

The short course trucks are the most popular class at the club with many people running the RTR FTX Apache.
AN ideal track for racing 2wd buggies ands vintage classes and possibly the home to a lunchbox race or two.

Thanks for coming to Millend RRC, There was a massive buzz around our family track. My daughter couldn't run her car on the day, which was a shame as her reciver had become water logged from the monday she is adored by everyone there. Mark , Richard, and Millend cafe and all the guys have been really supportive to my daughter Lily, aged seven who is doing Race for life for her nanny who passed away last year, keep up the good work guy's you are amazing for the hobby ❤

I’ve never been to a proper track but the more relaxed anything goes vibe of this one certainly makes it more appealing. I’d never heard of it but it’s only half hour up the road from me so may have to check it out!

Thankyou karl for paying a visit to a proper old skool grass track far more fun than astro turf unfortunately i couldnt run bowser from last year do you remember that anyway moved onto to a fleet of short course trucks

Another great value 2wd brushless short coarse truck is the HPI Jumpshot which I saw in the video. Very fast truck at under £200, great looking fun venue.

Wow, awesome video guys, and some brilliant editing making me and Trev look good on track😜 Seriously, it was a superb day, I always enjoy myself at this track, and it only takes us about 15 minutes to get there. The cafe is great, very nice Bakewell tart, and the track itself is a hell of a lot of fun. Thanks to Carl for 'popping along' and making us all famous, look forward to seeing the Popalong guys again soon!

This is great, some friends who set up a track for themselves and it's growing. I think you could probably run 1/8 scale if they allow them. They tend to tear up the track a little more. This truly grassroots tracing, no pun intended.

What an amazing track, its so awesome to see the hobby making such a great comeback, we are definitely at the star of another golden area of RC! Just got back from my local rc Track that I have here in my home town in Canada, it has been a long time since i have been on a track and it was all I could do to make it around in one go. 😅

This track seems great for bigger cars like 8th,7th and maybe 5th scale imo...beautiful lay out and big...cars don't get beat up compared to some tracks that are designed to break cars...

Just commented on your lunchbox build if you can get a big sponsor to come along and give and fit metal bearings too all CW-01 chassis because metal bearings mean faster and longer run times and a great way to encourage people to get into it metal bearings are the way 😎

I love tracks where it's just bring what you have an race not getting too serious about keeping it to certain classes because the market of bashers out there vastly outweighs racers. So how do we get those bashers to race? Because racing you have classes you have have have certain RC types & specs, etc to make it fair. That makes sense. But the dialing it back of "just bring what you haven and have a good time" is what I dig. There's a track close to where I live were they have an event where it's bring anything you have and nobody takes it all that serious. It's good for getting people to dip their toe in the water for racing.... It'd be cool to see at least a few more jumps in this track.

Some hose pipe and some lawn mowers, go and take over your own local parks and village greens, the council would never get on board for a couple of dozen people so do it yourselves.. Just don't leave a mess and look half organised and I'm sure you'll be left alone.

looks like a nice day and a fun back to basic gras track. what got me thinking is most of the cars i see at this event the rear of the cars get loose at corner exit and hooked in to the corners, seen it alot on popalong videos from other event also, is that a thing done by the driver or is the setup done wrong so cars gain steering at corner exit?

I refuse to join a club, first off I’m my part of Canada we have so few within a 2 hour drive of me and second the ones around are a toxic joke. If you don’t show up with a $1000 car and a $500 radio you’re not welcome and looked down on. To me the first thing RC should be is fun I have always loved Taymia kits it’s so much fun to push them to the limit and beyond. But god forbid you show up with one. I wish I had a track/club like this near me. I miss having fun like this.

While I agree we need more clubs like this, not having power on site for batteries is a major fail for this place. One of the very first things I did, even before I completed my track was to get the pit area and power set up. A track without power for charging is destined to fail. They really need to remedy that quickly or it's going to struggle to find new members.

Should astroturf the whole track what’s the point of doing half of it 😂. I thought sc models helped this club get up and running no mention of them oh well stotfold and Herts up the road for proper racers

As you say Stotfold is full astro so nice to have some variety.. personally we love the grass roots stuff and think is perfect as it is for getting new blood into the hobby … Although we will be at Stotfold soon with our pro buggy’s for a slightly more serious racing experience..

This club is all about having fun and not taking it to serious. Just to come and enjoy a good day for a small price where nobody cares about a few scratches on there car. For those that take it to serious don’t really enjoy the hobby so this is not the club for you if you want full Astro turf. Leave it to the people that are happy for what it is.
