I get frustrated with how the US is spending millions of dollars that make the military industrial complex richer. The system always works war profits but never healthcare or other basic human rights. It’s ridiculous.

Pope Francis is a very good man, very humble, very down to earth and very close to Heaven at the same time. He is a real follower of the Christian doctrine of love, compassion and understanding. God bless him and give him good health and wisdom to continue guiding the Catholic church and Christians in general. 🙏✝️

The papal apartments are big, but not "lavish". It is, in fact, a pretty austere residence I hate how the media insist that living in Casa Santa Marta somehow makes him somehow more humble than his predacessors.

This is like asking for peace in 1914. Each side would reject it over "land". When it's an endless war stalemate and there is no chance of getting back your land by military force (in case of Ukraine), you must negotiate to save lives. Would have been totally worth it in 1914, look at Europe now, there are no borders, everyone gets along. Might be the case with Ukraine and Russia one day.

Totally disagree. The idea of ‘negotiated peace’ can sometimes feel like a false sense of calm. It might even give the impression that we’re okay with dictators invading countries. This could set a dangerous precedent for similar events in the future. It’s somewhat similar to how Pope Pius XII responded to Hitler’s first invasion of Poland, and look at what he has done next.

I wonder if he would say the same if Muslims took 10 percent of vatican land. Would he still be for negotiated peace?
