What I like about her is the ability and willingness to change it up with every album. I first came across her with the song Scary Mask or X. The were a little on the immature side, but really catchy and fun to watch. I have come to appreciate her quite a bit.

Welcome! Highly recommend her ep called "EAT" as it is her heaviest project she has put out. Poppy actually introduced me to knocked loose and I can't wait to hear more from them!

its interesting to see the responses. ive been a Poppy fan for a long time and i really dislike Zig album. maybe i should give it a chance. Zig, Church Outfit were in my wrapped 100 but so was Shapes, So Mean and My Microphone. i really like her music to read to and sleep too and i like a lot of her unreleased music like Sweet Heart. for some reason i cant connect with this album. when she covered Kittie's Spit and released it before Zig came out i was hopeful there would be some guitar riffs. the song Zig has some. church outfit was 10 on my top 100 for 2023. i dig that kind of dance/club music.

I really don't understand how she is not more popular. I rarely listen to new music, but she has a sound that has intrigued me since I first heard it; I think that it's the unpredictable factor that attracts me. Being a musician, I'd really like to know more of her backstory, how she got started, who she worked with, but that's tangled and mysterious as well.

Something I've always appreciated with Poppy is just how much her music can be elevated by visuals. Flicker was one of my favorite songs on the album. I love her songs on their own but they always hit different when they get a music video too. Just really great atmosphere and evocative.

For some time, her songs have been exploring a mix of vulnerabilities, strengths and sometimes even a little bit perversions. She's definitely an explorer I'd love to see some epic length story songs (epics) come from her, I bet they'd be really interesting - she definitely isn't afraid of unpacking the human condition Quite something, considering before when even while it was all working against her. I hope that's changed - she needs that freedom, for all our sakes - Go Poppy!!

Dang this is some real music. You're doing your own thing which is what it's all about. I absolutely love it. The lyrics are both poetic and pragmatic, they tell a story that is grandiose and down to earth and relatable. This genre is its own thing, it's got this sort of higher power to it, like it's infinite and we are being invited on a journey, a small piece of a world that is hidden, limited in its scope, but deep, and always there.
