Marley was 100% Pure Jamaican! Yes he was biracial, with a white father and a black mother! But BOTH his parents were JAMAICAN!! Bob's mother was born in St Ann's Parish, while his father Norval Sinclair Marley was born in Clarendon Jamaica in 1885. If Marley had been nothing but just a layabout ghetto youth, they wouldn't be linking his direct heritage to Britain!! 👊🏾🇳🇬👊🏾🇳🇬!

How was his father Jamaican when he was an Englishman who moved to Jamaica? Are you saying he's Jamaican because he moved to Jamaica and became a "citizen."?
@aframaco9491
@aframaco9491 4 ай бұрын
@@thechi2848 No I am not saying that! The Island of Jamaica was taken over by the English from the Spanish in 1665. Even at that stage, the Spanish had already begun populating the island with West African captives made into slaves! The English renamed the Island Jamaica ( from Santiago which the Cubans called it) and made it a part of their British West Indies colony! The English continued the abhorrent practice of importing slaves from West Africa! In 1838, the English/British emancipated the African slaves on the island of Jamaica! They then imported Chinese and Indian indentured workers to take the place of the freed Africans! After this time, Jamaica became a melting pot of races,including the descendants of the white planter class, even as it remained a British colony! It is thereby agreed that all that lived and were born on the island from then on were now Jamaican!! That includes the descendants of the English planters class and the descendants of Africans imported as slaves! Bob Marley's father was born in Clarendon of English descent in 1884! Bob Marley's mother was born in St Ann Parish, of Maroon lineage who were mostly of Ghanaian descent! Marley was born in Nine Mile in 1945, to parents , who despite their different racial lineage , were both born In Jamaica!! OUT OF MANY, ONE PEOPLE!! So therefore Bob Marley, regardless of his biracial background is 100% pure Jamaican because both his parents were born in Jamaica! NB:despite its independence in 1962, Jamaica is still not a republic at this time, and the King of England ( like the Queen Elizabeth before him) is the official Head of State of Jamaica! Another NB: Jamaicans who emigrated en masse to England as children on the EmpireRush ( and their siblings born there) are quite happy to be British today despite being Black people! It works both ways! 👊🏾🇳🇬👊🏾🇳🇬!!

Jamaica’s motto is “Out of many one people“ it’s a nation, your race has nothing to do with being Jamaican. That’s what makes Jamaica so beautiful and the food so awesome. A true melting pot. Not a segregated nation of multiple races. Jamaica don’t pull that ish of halfsies, once you are born in Jamaica you are a 100% Jamaican. One Love. One Nation under God. This vid was definitely done by someone with a totally different mind set from how Jamaicas process inclusiveness of a nation.

4:30 No. Ska, rocksteady and reggae weren't developed alongside each other. Those genres came AFTER each other. Ska wasn't recorded anymore in the rocksteady era and rocksteady wasn't recorded anymore when reggae came.
@fatrobdouble
@fatrobdouble 3 ай бұрын
You have the order right, and there was a lineal evolution, but there certainly was some overlap. Late first-wave ska was recorded after the earliest rocksteady tracks, same is true for the latest rocksteady overlapping early reggae and even "do the reggay" (sic) was really more of a rocksteady song in and of itself. All manner of bashment is categorized by many genres and subgenres, and it's rarely going to be a situation where there's a clear cut timestamp where one begins and another ends. There were dub versions of roots songs, and many roots riddims formed the basis of dancehall tracks. Moreover, many roots artists became dancehall artists and even ragga artists late in their career, just as Toots and the Maytals made Ska, Rocksteady, and Reggae songs over the course of their careers. There were transitional subgenres, like sing-jay, which bridged the gap between roots and dancehall. And, although I don't do this personally, a lot of ppl refer to all post-calypso/post mento Jamaican music "reggae," from ska thru contemporary ragga which seems goofy to me but we cannot deny it exists and is somewhat common usage, especially for ppl who love music generally but aren't massive fans of Jamaican music specifically. Jamaican music is complex, and resistant to the overly simplistic categories that the global music industry has tried to squeeze them into.
@octaviano1296
@octaviano1296 3 ай бұрын
@@fatrobdouble They overlapped to some degree. But late first -wave that overlapped the first (real) rocksteady, was already a lot slower and is also called 'the rudeboy sound'. That unfortunately doesn’t stop people from choosing to worship other human beings even in their deaths and while they were alive. Whenever a person or people worship a human being or hold them to a higher than necessary esteem with any select teachings particularly from the Scripture is cultism. Another fun fact was that Peter Tosh was a far superior artist in comparison to BM

Peter was the better musician or instrumentalist. Bob wz the better & more prolific artist. Bob had a better voice & was the better writer. & by far the better performer.

Peter played second fiddle to Bob because even though Peter was the more proficient guitarist who actually initially taught Marley guitar cords, Peter was not as talented and prolific a songwriter as Bob. Peter and Bunny were in truth sidemen to Bob, which is why Bob’s compositions made up 80-90 percent of their 1960s material till when Bunny and Peter split. Peter dramatically matured as a songwriter, but was never on Bob’s level. If your personal preference is Peter’s music, then we respect that. But when you place their songs and catalogs side by side, there is no comparison, as Bob totally eclipses Peter.

Myth about Bob Marley he only got high for religious purposes bulshit. I'm a big Bob Marley document Watcher there's a whole bunch of them. One of the ones I watch where you was at his house on top. He rolls a big spliff and explains the this helps them feel better help some work out and exercise and then he goes and plays soccer. Doesn't really sound religious to me working out and playing soccer not that I'm criticizing the man he was a legend in his own time🎉

Nash wanted to propelled his music, so he had Bob marley n wailers write for him. Nash actually didn't do mich for the group, but the group did much for nash, hence why Bob and the Wailers cut ties because it wasnt benefiting them until they met blackwell. Plz knw facts before making a video

One of the prevailing myths around Bob Marley is that his father was a white man . I read other biographer that in fact he wasn’t white but he was light skin- black - it’s popular in Caribbean islands to call someone white who isn’t it’s happens in Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 for example calling someone white who is just light skin Black .

@@MaryBywaters I was watching KZfaq on one documentary led to another led to another led to another like that a few of the documentaries mentioned books on the topic. I'm heavily dyslexic so it's hard for me to read so I have to obtain my information and other formats. Pretty much the story goes as soon as he got political that's when they wanted him gone. I find where I find truth is when you hear it from multiple sources that's what I've heard about the Bob Marley death I think they use the cane an injected him

@@RH421939 they had ex-british spies on the documentary I watch saying yes they were watching Bob Marley unhappy with Bob Marley and wanted him out of the way. You're basing your opinion on a personal feeling? I have seen this on several documentaries. Once you got political and started getting involved in the government they wanted him out of the way. Like my mom always said you're entitled to your wrong opinion!
