Popular nutrition supplements that are completely ineffective

I have heard Huberman refer to Turkesterone a phytoecdysteriod which is essentially a plant and insect steroid comparable to the anabolic Deca. Huberman stated in an appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast, “It acts the same way as Deca or another testosterone derivative. It increases testosterone, performance, and recovery by an equivalent amount.” Just because a plant compound has a chemical structure similar to an anabolic doesn’t mean it will have anabolic effects when consumed. Turkesterone first came on the scene in the late 90s and early 2000s and it did not take off for the same reason why most supplements never get out of first gear, it simply didn’t work. Whenever I see anyone recommend or even worse sell Turkesterone I automatically don’t trust any information they promulgate. In addition to being ineffective, most of the turkesterone supplements on the market are underdosed. Of course, in some ways, this is immaterial, as no matter what the dosage it’s not going to be effective. My friend and legit supplement expert Jerry Brainum did a fantastic breakdown on turkesterone for his KZfaq channel

I'm noticing companies offering turkesterone as of late. Don't care. Don't want. Also I forgot that I believe in American genuine, the genuine kind but it is expensive. A company in Wisconsin sells it in capsule form. I started taking it in actual root form in the 80's.

For your next video on sayings/phrases people need to stop saying, "You got this".

I trust you on this topic over Huberman, but i do believe he's a good faith actor that tries to parse the research and present it as the current state of assumptions. For one, turkesterone has taken off more than bulbine. I know, sourcing, quality, etc. Still makes your argument logically void. I suggest you address the research on which Andrew is basing his podcasts supporting turkesterone, instead of just saying, "anyone who's well researched enough knows..." Andrew is well researched. As are you. Let's hear an argument with actual substance. This is basically a drama post, otherwise.

I disagree with you about Huberman. He should know better to recommend Turkesterone, Fadogia, and Tongkat Ali. Bulbine is superior to Fadogia something he should know by looking at the data and more importantly actual user experiences like my customers for ASTB. Tongkat Ali is essentially worthless and only helps those with low testosterone get to less low levels, not close to optimal. The fact he recommends it shows he has no credibility at least on the topic of effective natural T boosters. I don't need to address any of his research nor care to waste my time doing so. If someone puts out flawed info I am going to call it out no matter who it is. If that is drama to you then move on. I don't need to argue that Turkesterone doesn't work. The onus is on proponents to show it does and I have yet to see anyone prevail on that front. And yes I am well researched which is why I don't recommend ineffective options.

And PS being well-researched is not enough. One should have experience with compounds before talking about the efficacy of such compounds. I don't recommend anything that I have not found personally effective and I certainly don't sell anything under my label that I have not benefited personally from using.

@@MikeMahleraggressivestrength kinda seems like that first part was a canned response man... I'm sure you get a lot of customers asking about this and it's frustrating, but you mentioned evidence. Huberman is reading research and relying on his own experience with it. He CAN'T have the kind of experience you have considering it's your primary focus. I'm not really sure which part you disagree with...I believe he's acting in good faith and just reading research. There's always the chance that he's missing some or leaning on poorly structured studies, but his expertise in clinical research in general is valuable and relevant. You've mentioned research multiple times now and I'm just saying some references and a breakdown would be more useful than a vague deferral.
