Porcelain and Ceramic Repair Using Milliput. In this The China Repair Studio video, I will be showing you how to apply Milliput on ceramic and porcelain ready for painting.
Join me and start learning the skills of ceramic, porcelain and pottery repair and restoration.

I spent the day watching many of your videos which are very good. I have one question. After you paint a repair and you glaze the area do you just leave it alone or do you put it into a kiln?

I love your videos. Lots of very useful informations. One question : what about to use white miliput and then to paint it on the right colour? Wasn't it more easier?

Yes I could of painted over Milliput which is white, I wanted to demonstrate different Milliput colour tones for a museum repair.

Hi Ali, thanks for this, especially the mix of Milliput colours. I wasn't entirely sure how that would work given the slightly different grades. I have also written to an email address which I thought I had found for your business, but I now wonder if that was actually yours. I was asking about how one might go about dealing with a poor glue job (mine!) where Araldite has been used. Thanks again.

Hi there, sorry I haven't received your email. If you want to take old Araldite glue it really depends on the item eg is it porcelain, pottery, guilded ext. 😀 So pleased you found the video useful.

@@theceramicrepairstudio Hi Ali, the material is porcelain. I have previously spent ages very carefully extracting (ie scratching out!) the first 0.5mm of dried Araldite from between joined pieces, and then filling with Milliput. But the piece I'm contemplating repairing has a lot of sentimental value to me so I would like to see if there is any way to attack the Araldite in another way so as to be able to start from square one. I think I'm being optimistic but I won't know if I don't ask... Thanks.

Hi, may I ask doesn't the abrasive paper scratch the original glaze? Kind regards David Porter London

I don' touch the glaze with the sandpaper untill the Milliput is almost flushed with the original, then I carefully use a very light grade. I do have plenty of other videos on sanding.
