Porcelain Artist Wiping Out Rose Petals China Painting Lessons

Hi, I'm Angela Wisler a porcelain artist and instructor. Filbert china painting brushes are my first choice for wiping out small and medium sized roses on china. Follow along as I show how I wipe out the petals of this rose. The brush is damp with my oil based painting medium, but not wet. That way it will pick up the paint off of the surface of the porcelain. I am also using a wipe out tool and 100% silk wrapped around my finger.

It is soooo awsome and beautiful, thank you❤! May I ask, what kind of colors are for this technique? I assume oil based. Could we use acrylic for it?

Hello, these are porcelain overglaze paints. They are mineral pigments that I grind with oil medium. The paint is kiln fired at over 1400°F to fuse it into the glaze of the porcelain. Thanks very much for the lovely compliments.
