The worst part about anything that’s self destructive is that it’s so intimate. I became so close with all my addictions & leaving them behind is like killing that part of myself that taught me how to survive in the first place. Connections with others whom you can learn to trust is everything to me. This journey can feel so lonely. Thank you for sharing & Mark you are a Superstar✨

It’s so funny too! Because I have a sobriety clock for all things I used and abused to escape my pain. So many people think I’m still on something but looking at my clocks and when I go to my NA meetings it makes me laugh because that was a horrible person I had to kill and rebirth into the person I am today. Trusting yourself is the most hardest thing I’ve had to do. I’m so sorry you had to go through survival mode to be the best you! So happy you got out of it! :)

Fuck shame, fuck whoever did that to you, and fuck anyone who has anything to do with that. A lot of people cannot handle something like that and it takes superhuman willpower to try. What you call shame I see as hope that I can be as strong as you someday. I work with people who went through the things you went through. I have seen so many people who think it was their fault to some extent. Let me tell you an absolute fact, you had absolutely nothing to do with it. The shame and guilt are on the sub-human(s) who did whatever they did, please try to release those feelings from yourself because it is not in any way, shape or form your fault, you have absolutely nothing to be afraid of. Keep trying to let go of those feelings every day, I promise you that it works. If it makes you angry then be angry, if it makes you feel emotional then cry, do not hold back a single feeling and confront the trauma in yourself. That trauma was put there by people who should not be called people. Fuck them, and focus on yourself, whoever did that to you will face the consequences, you do not get away with doing something like that. They might not get arrested, but one way or another something will cut them down and stop their miserable existence. They are the victims, you are the warrior so do what warriors do and fight.

The number of parents who introduce their children to prescription narcotics (just as Raven describes) is staggering. As a small child, the vast majority of my friends were prescribed a cocktail of drugs just for high test scores and college admissions. The norm was Adderall XR (legal form of meth) before school, regular Adderall throughout the day, benzos (Xanax) after homework and Ambien to go to bed. Then there’s the mothers who would pass around oxys like candy for cramps, headaches or just to shut their kid up on the weekends. It’s gross negligence on every level at its highest form.

I'm older. I was diagnosed with ADHD back in 1965-66. The psychologist was the first adult male that ever listened or gave me permission to speak. Growing up in a lonely vacuum of isolation will drive the typical person to suicide . . .or worse. The point is that I knew drugs were and are not the answer for me, and I was surrounded by everything and all the opportunity to use freely. I've lost friends to addiction and have non judgmental empathy for those who are addicted. The sad part is you have to let go at a certain point and hope they want to help themselves . . .Most do not.

The professional studios in the porn industry actually take really good care of their performers, male, female and in between. Unfortunately, that is only one side of the industry, another side, that is more easily accessible for people who want to get into porn, is the so called 'pro-am' side which is basically next-door girls who are ambitious of becoming a star in porn, are used by the most disgusting low-profile studios out there, and after a month or 2, they just get no work anymore because new 'fresh' girls enter the industry on daily basis. They make around 20k, but in the end the money is all spend for clothing, travelling, STD tests, and later on drugs to keep performing and to not fall behind. That part of the industry is what people should hate.. not the really professional side. Studios as Brazzers, Evil Angel and a few other professional studios (ignore the evil part in this, because the founder Joanna is a sweetheart) are always keeping their eyes open for girls that are 'trapped' in the pro-am side, and try to fly over some of these girls to, well.. rescue them from the bad side of porn. But because the industry is saturated and the pro-am side keep introducing new girls they cant save all of them unfortunately.

Great work Mark! I recommend finding a "nicer" or "softer" way to end your interviews. Folks sharing super vulnerable info of themselves and just abruptly saying "ok while thank you so much for sharing," feels like being cut off! At least give folks a warning "alright well thank you for that, we've got just another minute left of the interview, can I ask you one more question?" and let them shift gears from being super open and vulnerable to prepare to close and end. Her talk about feeling bad for wanting a Christmas gift "in the hundreds" got me. Christmas is the one holiday that should be magical and all happiness for kids. Its all about dreaming, wishing and wonderment. I can't imagine my kids feeling bad for wanting anything (not that they always get it, but they usually do, I overcompensate for my childhood). A kid having to be that introspective, realistic, self conscious and monetary is so opposite of what a kid should think about anytime let alone for xmas.

Common sense tells us if her emotional and sexual identity is disturbed in so many other ways chances are that her choice to work in pornography is affected too.....her path towards working in pornography is textbook predictable, including her belief that it was her own powerful choice when in reality she is a victim of circumstance. Her emotional development in the area of sexuality is stuck at the age that she was first introduced which was very young age. Her introduction to sex involved her being used as an object for another's gratification.......and that's exactly the function of a porn actress.

This interview is even more depressing than the ones with alcoholics and drug addicts. This girl is fundamentally broken by her upbringing. Broken home. No Dad. Mom was a crackhead. Abused physically and sexually. And look what it's done. She can sit there and seem so normal, down to earth, pleasant, etc...then straight faced tell you how great the porn world is, how awesome the experiences are, and how it isn't abusive, exploitative, and absolutely detrimental to everyone involved. Its like watching a person with a learning disability who seems normal, but then calmly tells you 1+1 equals 3, or the sky isn't blue or something similar. It's just sad. She has normalized abuse to the point she doesn't even see it anymore. She's also only 20, will be really depressing to see a follow up video when she's 30.

Ok. So let me get that straight: She was completely failed by her parents, there were no services helping her get away from these drunkard lunatics, her high school was a mess of drug and peer abuse, but she got off the drugs (she says at least), got treatment for her baggage, and now does porn. And even went into it (she says) with rather good boundaries. And she seems to plan ahead. And in this story, people get hung up on the porn? Not the complete fucking failure of all institutions, that could have made her just another person ODing somewhere? Yes, there needs to be a conversation on how porn draws traumatized people. But if this is your main takeaway from this story, you are a lunatic.

But I don't want to ever be determined by my trauma or become a reflection of it. You're so mature Raven! Craziest thing is that premature wisdom is a mark of being forced to grow up too fast, in the worse ways. But we can use it to our benefit. What happened to us in the past wasn't our fault and it wasn't our responsibility to keep ourselves safe and knowledgeable. But now it is. As now adults the ball is in our court.

She’s very young to be getting into this industry, but at least she’s not having to do drugs to do it. The question is:Will she turn to drugs in the future? Drugs are readily available in this industry, and it’s a cold feeling when the young ladies get older. I hope she will consider counseling for what she’s been through. She may love this industry right now, but it may get old really quickly. I hope she’ll turn to help instead of drugs. Life is Tough! Especially for a young girl alone.💘

I believe in freedom of choice of course but no not at all. This shit should not be glorified and should stay as taboo. The problem with living in a far leftist society (witch we are today) is theres no boundaries no order no tradition. We live already in a hyper sexualized society the swipe left swipe right culture. What we do need is more nuclear family tradition. How about we encourage the traditional family life of having 1 partner and having children and living by traditional gender roles. Because studies show that those relationships people are more happy theres a reason we did it this way for thousands of years. I did both i did the tinder and sex thing for a couple years than had a daughter and met a great woman and married her. The whole reason we have this hyper sexualized society today is to destroy the traditional all american family of mom and dad. As for this girl your encourging a girl thats been abused and is totally brainwashed and his trying to cope with what happened to her. Look up the statistics on women in porn industry they are almost all addicts, all depressed and all regret it. Mia khalifa has said she regrets it recently as well. Almost every girl in this industry has suffered some abuse and they cope by doing it more and making it there life its a strange but common type of coping.

Since u seem to think that we should allow these things into the mainstream of society no matter how vile and wrong. There needs to be boundaries in a society and morale rules. Even if others see right thru you, It may take years before any change really happens. And everyone justifies thier own 'attitude', I.e. "my truth".
