I agree on 2 door and size but Juke just too ugly...

Ruslan X Yeah the Juke is pretty, um, "unique" in it's styling, to put it nicely, especially in stock, cross-over SUV form. But when it's dropped down, given the wider bodywork, etc., it totally looks like it was meant to be a hot hatch from the beginning. Again, I think the same could be done with the Macan, and the BMW X3M. I saw an X3 the other day, and was thinking if they gave it the Juke GT-R treatment, it would totally look like a hot hatch that, again, looks like it was meant to be a hot hatch from the beginning. I think Porsche and BMW are totally ignoring an untapped market by not coming out with assembly line cars with the Juke GT-R treatment. All those cross-over SUVs look pretty big when in stock form, but dropped down and given wider bodywork, again, they totally look a lot smaller and like hot hatches.

Ruslan X Congrats on ordering the Macan. Which trim level? Oh and by the way, the smaller and wider thing is not an issue if you want to get a Juke GT-R look out of it. Firstly, the Juke is a 4 door, but just by dropping it down, and maybe having some bodywork add-ons like different side sills (or maybe even not), like the Juke GT-R, just doing that, it will look way smaller (because again, in stock form, the Juke looks big) and it looks like the Juke and Macan have about the same overall length, so again, just dropping it down and having wheels that fill out the wheel wells (and the Macan looks like it comes with fairly big wheels and low profile tires) and with the fenders that the Macan has, it would definitely look a lot, a lot smaller like the way the Juke GT-R (or Juke-R, as it is officially called) looks like a 4-door hot hatch. I think it would have the same smaller, wider hot hatch look if you choose to go that route. But either way, nice buy with the Macan. I'm sure you're gonna have a lot of fun. People have fun, like in a sportscar way, with the bigger Cayenne, so the Macan will probably give you a load of fun driving experience-wise. Have fun!

ToxicDonut81 Um, mate on the limit it does. Yes it will power over steer out of a corner but at mid corner and corner entry, on the limit, it understeers. It has to. Both due to physics and the fact 99.9% of drivers are rubbish so almost all cars (excluding the likes of Caterham and anything specialist e.g. GT3, Speciale etc) have understeer dialled into the chassis set up to save lives. This includes the Cayenne.

World Traveler东北 It will understeer. I drive a Cayenne as a daily driver. as good as it is on the road, it is even better off the road. if you're pushing it really over the limit it will understeer mid corner and at corner entry as he said. but it will oversteer on the exit.

Monstrous? It's a COMPACT suv. It's roughly the same dimensions as a Q5. And it's rubbish? How so? It is by far the best performing compact suv available. It's refined, fuel efficient, safe, attractive, practical, comfortable, has a decent amount of off road ability while still feeling sportier than most sports cars. It's excellent value for money considering it's excellent build quality, badge image, overall ability and NVH levels, And it's arguably the market leader in it's segment. Even if you don't like it, isn't calling it rubbish a little unfounded and idiotic?

adzmorris Noone is ever going to take a Macan offroad, so why does it need to be so tall and heavy? I understand the point of Porsche making something more pracitical than a sportcar for people, who have kids and so. But I really wish they would make a proper sports sedan like the BMW M3 or M5 instead of these silly SUVs. But as 1seipai write, its dictated by market demand in particular from markets like the US or China, where most buyers are rich car ignorants, who just want the badge.

fundiver198 China is Porsche's fastest growing market and the quality of the roads there are horrible. You're basically driving off road everyday. Australia can be the same. Many major connecting roads are dirt or gravel tracks. The Macan is the perfect balance between a road car but still has decent ground clearance for rubbish roads and huge pot holes. They do make the Panamera for the large sports sedan segment and they are currently working on an M3 rival based on the Audi A4 platform. And although I am an avid sports car fan, the small performance SUV makes so much sense. It will do all the day to day stuff, its so easy to get in and out of, it fits loads of stuff and people, it's comfy over even horrible roads and when you do find an empty winding road, it has the performance abilities to more than put a smile on your face and keep up with even very capable cars. What's not to love?

adzmorris all your statements are right..but since we're talking about Porsche, they aren't anymore..Porsche is a Ferrari and Lambo opponent not BMW, Audi or range rover. Porsche, for all feelings it has created in all sportcar lovers in the world for 60 years, shouldn't build a diesel SUV, under any excuse, enough said.

mou3adh I understand where you are coming from but Porsche's origin was in designing and engineering everything from tanks to tractors to the VW Beetle. I'm a huge fan of the brand due its engineering prowess and sheer ability to get everything it attempts so very right, not just it's incredible sports cars and racing heritage. I have just as much respect for what a Cayenne or Macan can do as I do for a GT2, GT3 (and their RS derivatives) or Turbo S. Trust me, I don't "dream" of owning a Macan or Cayenne as I do the RS's and Turbo 911's but they are still excellent vehicles.

Hey Kent you realise he may read this? How would you like it if you spent years honing your craft as not only a brilliant journalist and driver, but having to adjust to a rapidly changing work environment where you now have to present videos. You then spent hours testing cars, producing footage while trying to keep the story interesting only to read a comment from some prat that after all this, you're irritating and you have a boring voice. Would you have the balls to walk up to him and tell him this to his face?? No? Well if you wouldn't say it to him in person, don't say it on here hiding behind your keyboard.

I'm not hiding behind my keyboard. My account shows my real name, and he can very easily contact me personally and I will respond. The whole point of comments is to give the viewers the ability to give their opinions and input on what they want to watch. We are shaping our own entertainment, which is a wonderful thing. That should not be compromised simply because one person doesn't want their feelings hurt. I'm sure this presenter has an entire team behind him working hard, and in my opinion he is bringing them down. They should know that and correct it. P. S. Kent Salmon I agree with where you are coming from Kent and maybe I took your comment with an incorrect inflection and my apologies for insulting you, you're right, that was childish. I work with people that are very much in the public eye and when they see themselves being put down in magazines or online, it can hit them hard. I think many people assume "celebrities" are immune to these feelings or a few youtube comments won't impact them but on many an occasion it can.

I prefer this guy to many others. Shrug. Saying he is "irritating" with a "boring voice" sounds more like your own problem than a criticism worth sharing.

+adzmorris Thank you for your rational, fair response and maturity. It's refreshing to find in internet comments, and makes me really consider your point of view. You have made me think about the way I communicated my opinion, and I see your point. I still think it is important to be able to give criticisms and requests for improvement on what we watch, but I can certainly make an effort to make it constructive. I guess being able to give criticism, and not being insulting or hurtful are not mutually exclusive. I will be more thoughtful with my wording in future. Thank you for this growth:)
