Classic cars are awesome, but unless you have a sweet engine to listen to, you will want some entertainment! This ATOTO P8 might just be the perfect on-dash stereo solution for you. I like that it’s a smaller size and can be easily removed to use in another car. Since this will work in ANY car that has an aux-in or just an FM radio, it can be used in any car made in the last 50 years or so. It also works with 12 or 24 volts so it can be used in trucks. I have tested the wireless Apple CarPlay and it worked really well and connected every time without any hesitation or issues. All I had to do to set this up was to connect to Bluetooth and the rest was automated. On top of that, you can also connect 2 cameras that can be used a dashcam or even as reverse camera. I also like how well the interface is designed and how easy this portable CarPlay is to use.

Hello, I am following you from Saudi Arabia. My car does not have bluetooth. There is only an aux port. How do I connect to the screen and speakers in the car? And I don't have bluetooth in the car

Hi SimpleCarGuy, thanks for all the helpful videos. In your experience, for an i3, would you recommend installing Apple carplay with a unit like this ATOTO P8 or installing a box unit that would allow Apple carplay through the car’s factory display?

Hi Jorge, if you can, definitely get the add-on box for the factory display. It's a lot more integrated into the BMW system and you can use the steering wheel controls as well as the iDrive controller.

Thx 4 the review. The newer version cleaned up the wiring harness on the back, but they took away the external mic! WTF!?!? And still didn't give us options for bigger screens, or add ons like tire pressure or OBD reader. Also, Linux sux IMO. It's stable, but I'd rather have Android any day of the week & be able to add apps & customize w/ widgets. Dual cams & remote are the redeeming factors. A tough sell at +$200 though

How does the recording work? Constant loop time? Time increments? How's the playback work?

Loop time, you can set up for every 3 min for example, it will save incrementally. You can see all videos in the screen , it saves for both reverse and front camera.

My car (2011 hyundaii30) stereo has no Bluetooth but does have aux input. Would this unit connect to my car and play music through my existing stereo not an after market one. T.I.A B

Yes, that’s exactly what’s it for. You connect your phone to to this device via Bluetooth and/or CarPlay and Android Auto and then it can use AUX or a radio station to send that to your car.

No it seems to be limited to playing through car stereo via aux cable or FM. I guess that must be because the unit is connected to the phone via bluetooth and it can only support one connection?

Yes, IF, your radio has an aux port you can connect your radio to this, & then Bluetooth from your phone to the Atoto, which then plays through your speakers
