If you have a Samsung phone, it just takes a usb C dongle, and it automatically converts the phone to a simple desktop experience

Did you end up getting one for yourself? I am debating to use a portable monitors for travel, and as a second monitor to my desktop when at home. I have not decided whether it is worth it or not. I'm thinking about lapdocks too. Again, is this actually useful when I can just bring my laptop for travels

Yes but adding a power bank to the mix does not make the setup anymore portable IMO. Also you need one that supports fast charging as well.

Has anyone figured out if they can connect a switch to this without the dock? I brought my switch on a short term move with a portable arzopa monitor that powers the switch without the dock and grabbed the vp16oled on sale assuming it'd be able to do the same and surprised I can't seem to get it working
