If you are thinking about getting back up power, or setting up for "Off the Grid" living then this BLUETTI AC200 Max might be worth considering for your situation. I tested the unit for two weeks in the workshop and on the Off Grid Property and I became a big fan of this machine. It will power your DC devices and most of your AC powered devices.
It can be recharged using mains AC power, Solar power up to 900 watts or you can plug it into your vehicle cigarette lighter socket.

I just scanned through the comments and read how some folks had their panties in a twist to the point of unsubscribing! Huh? What? Really? 😂🤣 Honestly, I'm not a fan of reviews or infomercials either, but Scott was pretty honest and up front by telling you what this video is all about in the title. No click bait here. Knowing all this up front, all you have to do is skip the video if you're not interested. I wish other fellow KZfaq content providers would follow Scott's example and be just as honest and forthcoming whenever they review products. I've done such reviews as well on my channels. Sometimes it's necessary to help make ends meet. We're always pleading with people to hit the "like" button, subscribe and share, etc. but very few people ever do just that (even though it does not cost them a penny) when such actions go (amazingly) a long way to support a channel. @Scott Turner - I think you did a great job, Scott. Thanks for your up front honesty. 👍👍👍

I would really prefer that they had built the mains charger into the unit with nothing but a plug on the outside. It’d make it heavier but it’s one less thing to lose or keep with it.

Yep that would be a good idea, but it is pretty hefty as it is, well for my little spaghetti arms anyway.

@@MrJonas2255 It's usually a cost-cutting measure. The manufacturer can just swap out the power brick for a different one depending on where it's sold, and they usually get them from another supplier so they don't have to certify it separately.

It's kind of funny that I'm totally into the old ways, like blacksmithing and ropework, but I love my modern conveniences! I couldn't care less if it powers a saw or grinder. Just tell me how long I can power a coffee maker! Without coffee, what's the point of living? Great video, Scott. Keep up the great work.

Haha yep. AUD I think around $2700. Sounds steep until you look at making your own like I just did recently. Then you realise that what this unit delivers for the price it's pretty good value IMHO.

Hi Scot ,Hope all ik well , was wondering how the Bluetti was performing ,im thinking of getting one to have as a backup . I wanna have something for just in case...im sure transitioning from fossil fuels to green energy will go flawlessly lol...

The Bluetti is working great for the most part. When using for appliances such as kettles, toasters, fridges, lights etc it works perfectly. I have had trouble running my angle grinders and some power tools under its rated power. May be the start up power demand. I'll be using the Bluetti doing my next project. I usually charge mine just with solar.

There are lots of people using it for that purpose. If you had a good solar panel set up then this system makes great sense.

I like those units, it's the one I have been leaning toward for a while. I'd be curious how well it holds it's charge when left off for a spell. Those things seem to be something that is used a lot at first but then sits on the shelf for long periods once the novelty has worn off, or the immediate need has been overcome. Scott, please do a follow up on the unit in the next few months, although I'm sure you will use it a ton out at the new homestead, so it probably won't see shelf life for some time! LOL Also, why were you warming up motor oil in your coffee pot?!? 😂

Haha, what's wrong with a shot of old motor oil ? ;) So far the Bluetti has been fantastic for my needs. I'll probably do a brief follow up down the track after we see how it holds up. Bluetti did give this to me, however I too was looking buying one before hand. Cheers Rob.

How long with this system run A standard 160w family fridge freezer and a 200l deep freezer ?

Unfortunately your question does not provide enough information. One of the hardest things for people to understand is their power usage over 24 hours. Then break this down to individual appliance usage over 24 hrs. Then, is there any recharging, i.e solar, generator? If your standard fridge uses 160w each hour for 24 hours the usage will be 3840 watts. So 2200 watts / 160 watts gives 13.75 hours running time (No recharging and no allowing for losses). However; you must factor efficiency losses. The converting DC current to AC current consumes energy, these are losses. You won't have the full 2200 watts of battery (sorry) for your fridges as with any similar system that converts energy. As per my test, I ran my family fridge for around 19 hours with no recharging. Older, non inverter style appliances use more power. I hope this helps with your questions.

According to the technical specs it has LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate).

Nice one, that thing would come in handy here in suburban New Zealand where we've only just got electrical but only the rich (people with jobs) can afford it. So you are saying that this is free electric just by driving around with it for two hours smoking a cigarette?

It is hefty and I don't move it around much as I have set up every thing around it that I need. Mind you, a Honda Generator 2.2 is probably heavier full of fuel.

I’ve see another U Tuber make his own power supply by bolting an inverter and battery onto a hand cart. He can charge it via solar but also wheel it to where ever he needs it.

One thing I hate about the AC200MAX is the AC brick charger. Not only is it bulky but the cooling fan is quite noisy and runs all the time.

Yes it is on the noisy side. Also I have learned that the Bluetti needs to be on for the charger to work. Mine will be plugged into solar panels.

This thing won't have enough power to run my 32ft camper in 1 night. It drained out so fast in 4 hrs just to run lights, heat and fridge.

I used a kettle that uses around 2000 watts. I also have a smaller kettle that uses 1200 watts. Part of having a good set up for your off grid power system is to use efficient appliances where possible, also get appliances that are suitable for the power supply you have. I cannot see why the Bluetti would be damaged by anything working within the units capacity. A good question to ask Bluetti perhaps. I hope this help with your question.

Can I ask why you need 3000 watts for? That is a lot of power demand on a 12 volt system. I'm guessing you have seen my own portable power cart build?

@@ScottTurnerformeindustrious yeah ok I get that mate, but what you need to remember, is your not the only one reviewing these stinking bluetti batteries, I could name 6 other channels that I used to follow that have all chosen to do the same, and from my perspective, having this bombardment of the same product, does not make me want to go out and buy one, it just makes me do exactly what I just did, Unsubscribe and move on.
