Edit: Sorry for the repost, I accidentally replied to someone's comment, instead of posting an individual comment :X Every time I listen to your Porter covers, I feel that I've always underestimated what a piano can do, but then I remember that is less to do with the piano, and more to do with the story the artist is telling. It never ceases to amaze me how you're able to relate and express the music so organically; sort of as if it's your song and not a cover. Sorry if I'm being too philosophical haha, I just can't put into words how deeply I'm moved by your renditions. Is it crazy that during the wake of Nurture, I was subconsciously looking forward to hearing your covers? Thanks for so much inspiration!

I believe if a pianist chooses the right simple notes to a song the listener knows really well, it's much more powerful than a virtuosic pianist playing a crazy impressive song the listener has never heard. First of all I can't play crazy stuff haha and second, somehow so many Porter fans have found us here so I'm just playing the way I play and everything hits right because the audience is just right. Sorry I'm rambling lol, your comment made me tear up a little 😭 I really try to absorb a song before I let my fingers translate it and I'm so happy you're enjoying my covers 😭💛

My mom had me take piano lessons from 7th to 9th grade. I dreaded it. Now whenever I see KZfaq videos of people playing piano I kind of see what I could of been capable of playing if I had put a little bit of effort.

I've heard so many stories, of kids being forced to take piano lessons to only quit and regret it later. It's okay :) It was just the wrong time, you wanted to do other things! It's not too late to start because you do not have to compare yourself to anyone, just play for yourself and your friends and family if you want :) I quit classical piano lessons in high school as well, but I started playing pop songs and what I actually wanted to play (sorry Beethoven, Chopin) and that's how it all changed :)
