PORTUGAL: Incredible Day Trip to SINTRA from Lisbon

This is a day trip to Sintra from Lisbon and a detailed explanation of how to get to Sintra by train.
I took a train to Sintra from Rossio Train Station in Lisbon. When I arrived in Sintra, I took bus 434 to Pena Palace from Sintra Train Station. I bought a ticket for Pena Palace park which gives access to the Gardens of Pena Palace and Sintra Valley of the Lakes (Vale dos Lagos). I took Pena Palace shuttle to Pena palace entrance.
After exploring Pena Palace park and the gardens, I visited the Moorish Castle (Castelo dos Mouros) and hiked to the top. Then I visited Sintra Old Town. I ended my day trip at Regaleria Palace (Quinta da Regaleira) where I walked down the Initiation well.
The village of Sintra, classified as world heritage by UNESCO, is found on the northern side of the mountain range that bears its name, a huge structure ending in the impressive cliffs of Roca Cape, the westernmost point of Europe.

Your Pena Palace tickets are for a reserved time slot. Did u not notice the "time signs" . I think the "line" is just folks milling around waiting for their time slot arrival. But liked you video as a first timer there is very informative 😊

Thank you! Yes, you receive a reserved time slot for Pena Palace tickets. However, it tends to be crowded irrespective of the allocated time slots.

Beautiful place. Historic town with all the restaurants looks fantastic. Going up to the castle towers with no gaurdrails is scary. Awesome video, felt like, I was actually visiting the places myself.

Great video!! Thanks for sharing... if u can explain... you got to the entrance of the pena palace, then walk to the park... you walk to the moorish palace... Then u rin the city... I want to go to the parks, the quinta regaleira and monserrat and city,,, but don't know in what order

Thanks. You can visit the sites in the order you saw in the video. I did not visit Monserrat. You can add it at the end, but I doubt you will have enough time to visit all of them in one day.

Thanks for showing this.I am going to spain/ portugal . Sintra village is an optional tour. looks like a loy of walking. Pena palacce gottransport but I dont think I can climb the Moorish Catle ? is it Moorish castle?

Thank you so much. The Moorish Castle is not that far from Pena Palace. If you decide to walk to the castle, make sure you walk through Pena Palace Gardens on your way to the Moorish Castle as you saw in the video. It is a beautiful walk. The climb is not that difficult. Enjoy your trip!

Thanks! I see to get nice images of the Pena Palace from the Moorish Fortress, I need a telephoto lens, and I'm not going to bring this on our trip, so there's no reason for us going there. I would too need a couple of days, to get the images I wanted. Inside the Pena Palace I could probably pick out nice details with my 27 mm aps-c lens, but it will all be too much a hustle. Better to spend our few days in Lisbon, in Lisbon!

If you decide to enter Pena Palace, I suggest you pick the first time slot early in the morning to avoid big lines.

Thank you. That line is to enter the palace and the ticket I had was for the park, not palace.
