Watch Purshottam, a.k.a Porus, portray his perpetual appetite for his motherland while taking on the fearsome legend of the West, Alexander The Great. The entire journey of Alexander carving his way to India, acquiring Indian allies, and then losing them while Porus prepares his country for a do-or-die battle is followed by the ruthless Battle of Hydaspes in a northwestern state of the Indian subcontinent.
This intriguing tale sets back to 350 BC and narrates the stark irony of how Porus and Alexander were born on the same day but were fostered with contrasting mindsets. Diverse characters from Greece and Indian history are brought to life and eventually the story fuses into a trembling climax leading to superbly depicting the courageousness of Indian emperors.

देखें पुरुषोत्तम, उर्फ पोरस, पश्चिम की डरावनी किंवदंती अलेक्जेंडर द ग्रेट को लेते हुए अपनी मातृभूमि के लिए अपनी सतत भूख को चित्रित करते हैं। सिकंदर की पूरी यात्रा भारत के लिए अपना रास्ता बनाती है, भारतीय सहयोगियों को प्राप्त करती है, और फिर उन्हें खो देती है, जबकि पोरस अपने देश को करो या मरो की लड़ाई के लिए तैयार करता है, इसके बाद भारतीय उपमहाद्वीप के उत्तर-पश्चिमी राज्य में हाइडस्पेश की क्रूर लड़ाई होती है।
यह दिलचस्प कहानी 350 ईसा पूर्व की है और यह बताती है कि कैसे पोरस और सिकंदर एक ही दिन पैदा हुए थे, लेकिन विपरीत मानसिकता के साथ पैदा हुए थे। ग्रीस और भारतीय इतिहास के विविध पात्रों को जीवंत किया जाता है और अंततः कहानी एक कांपते हुए चरमोत्कर्ष में फ़्यूज़ हो जाती है जिससे भारतीय सम्राटों के साहस का शानदार चित्रण होता है।

इस इतिहास प्रस्तुति की प्रशंसा करनी चाहिए लेकिन साथ ही यह प्रश्न भी स्वयं से करना चाहिए की इस इतिहास का आधार क्या है की पोरस की हार हुई थी,उत्तर है - ग्रीक लेखक, वो पोरस को विजयी क्यों लिखेंगे, लेकिन वो सिकंदर जो दुनिया फतह करने निकला था, जो खुद को खुदा मानता था, वो पोरस से प्रभावित होकर उसे छोड़ सकता और वापस जा सकता है या फिर पोरस से हार जाने के बाद वापस गया है? विचार करें

In history books, 3 lines are written on Porus while rest is Alexander's story.... little I knew about King Porus who stopped Alexander from invading India! Even then, I feel very bad, I can't see such a beautiful performance anymore. Every charecter was so good but I saw this serial mainly for Rohit purohit .Such a great performance he gave. I will miss him more.

Thankyou for making serial on Indian warrior with good budget SWASTIK PRODUCTIONS. PORUS SERIAL HAD EXCELLENT LEVEL OF language in its dailogue .If watched daily it would certainly be constructive for Language we use in daily basis. Like words JYESHTH. many more points of serials are need to be appreciated. Serial didn't promote Toxicity is big thing

This series provides a perfect tribute to Porus the great and Alexander the great. The actors have done a tremendous job in bringing the characters to life. It is like they were the chosen ones. Characters played of Porus, Porus mother (Anusuya), Porus wife (Lachi), Alexander, Alexander's Mother (Olympia) to name a few and others were really great and will not be forgotten. The show portrayed the righteousness of Porus & the love for his motherland (Bharat) along with great strategy & ambitions of Alexander, which will be etched in our minds. The mother of Porus and mother of Alexander have played an important role in their lives. Anusuya had instilled in Porus love for ones motherland. Olympia had instilled in Alexander an ambition that had become a goal for his life. This series take us to the ancient era in India and Greece where it happened. Sadly not much is written about Porus in India except details about him from the Greek Philosophers. This is a mystery as it was because of him & other situations which arose that Alexander stops his conquest & returns back which is great achievement for Porus & Bharat. Thanks for Swasthik productions ❤for creating this epic & putting it on youtube. Hope to see more such series made by your production house. I am awestruck. It surely will inspire the present and the next generations by instilling a pride for their country about its predecessors & ancient roots. Bharat jayatu. Glory to India. ❤

Some facts which are important to know at the end of this serial. 1. *Alexander didn't defeat Porus but he had to sign a treaty with Porus.* (Alexander sent many proposals of treaty to Porus which was denied by him and at last he aggred to sign the treaty with Alexander). 2. *The son of Porus was not born after the battle but long before it and the son of Porus fought bravely with a little army against a huge army of Alexander* and Alexander could see his death in his hands but the Macedonian general Ptolemy I Soter attacked him from behind and he was killed. 3. *Acharya Chanakya has been shown with his hairs tied but He already went to Magadha with his dream of "Akhand Bharat" before the invasion of Alexander* and got insulted by Dhanananda and untied his hairs. 4. *Porus was not killed by Selucus but Eudemus.* Eudemus invited Porus in his area to facilitate their friendship but betrayed Porus and killed him. *Greek historians made their own story to cover the defeat of Alexander. Alexander had no other option except the treaty with Porus and this indicates to the fear of Alexander of being defeated or killed and that's why he couldn't snatch the Kingdom of Porus and also he had to give Porus all the lands of India which he conquered before and after the battle of Hydaspes.* *The unbeatable guard of India, Porus had literally made Alexander return with empty hands from our country.* *Maharaj Purushottam ki Jai.* *Bharat Jaitu.* 🙏🏻

You are arguing with me by reading an article in Google and I am answering you by reading the history from the Archeological Survey Of India (ASI) which clearly states that when Porus found himself severely wounded he returned to take rest and Alexander found that moment easy to sign the treaty with Porus but still Porus didn't agree with Alexander but finally he aggred as Alexander sent Meroes (old friend of Porus) to facilitate the treaty. Why would Alexander sent one upon one messanger to Porus to make the treaty if Alexander had a clear victory. Alexander did beast like behaviour to all the kingdoms he won before, but in case of Porus he didn't do anything and the most shocking fact is giving all the lands of India he conquered before and after the battle of Hydaspes to Porus. Why would any victorious king do so if he had the dream to conquer the whole world. It says everything against the so called history of the Greek historians. They gave us nothing but a story and we still believe it to be true while we have the proof. Modern historians say that there was no clear victory in favour of anyone of them. The battle ended in a treaty and we can see who had the larger chance to win the battle by simply watching the results of the treaty. Thank you.
