Malaki ang pagkakaiba ng science and religion as science do base more on reasoning and things that can be observed pero ang religion is more on things na hindi nakikita and more of faith. Sa laki ng influence ng religions around the globe, although it doesn’t directly hinder science itself, may mga pagkakataon na nagiging cause ito ng mga debate dahil very much unlikely ang principles nila. Good point! I love how you interpret that it is not about the religion you are in, nor your beliefs, it is how we respect and understand our individual differences. It was also mentioned that not just Abrahamic Religions ‘promotes’ moral and ethical values. Even Confucianism, Hinduism and even Buddhism promotes these values. I also agree that bible itself had some contexts that are challenging to comprehend. It is undeniably true that there were some incestous relationships written specifically on the sons and daughters of Adam and Eve (Genesis) and even Abraham marrying Sarah, and those were written in Exodus. There was an argument that it was done prior to God commanding against it and it was ‘allowed’ by God to save humanity and since Adam and Eve were the first human on earth, their offspring don’t have a choice but to marry their close relatives. I also commend your knowledge in the bible passage about the punishment for women who cannot prove their virginity (Deuteronomy 22:13-21) You could take a look of different perspective on the passage such as: payment of virgin bride wealth, family’s honor, interpretation acc to their custom during that time etc. In today’s advancement of technology, it is indeed hard to prove woman’s virginity and hymeneal blood is unreliable proof.
