Something i have noticed from being around my trans friends or seeing trans people online

I'm getting top surgery tomorrow and I'm beyond excited, but I'm also terrified and am having some of those "if only I was born cis" thoughts. This was great to hear and I definitely agree, so thank you!

thank you for the support. my granny is super religious and tells me I'm going against her religious beliefs and her personal beliefs. she says she'll always call me birth name and birth gender because in her mind I'm always gonna be that. I told her that made me sad and she mocked me for feeling this way. my dad and mum as well as step dad are very supportive but still are learning new things about transgender people. my dad however keeps asking me to wait to get hormones and surgery as he feels that because I only came out last year and from what people can see I've only started feeling this way (this is untrue I've realised for a few years) that I should wait to figure myself out as I'm only young. basically invalidating my feelings because he's scared I'm gonna make a decision he thinks I will regret. Thus far I've just tried to tell him I'm getting top surgery and whatever I do down the line is my decision and assure him my age has nothing to do with my feelings. it's frustrating but it comes from a good place so I'm trying to help him to be more respectful of my feelings and choices.

Have you made a video talking on the differences between living as female vs male? Like seeing how people treat you differently when they see you as a certain gender?

One of my friends kept on calling me it when I came out to him so I thought he just wasn't accepting because I even told him them/they. Apparently he just didn't know how to use them/they pronouns and just wasn't educated. So if someone close to you doesn't use your pronouns or just disrespects you just talk to them because they might not know that they are being disrespectful and you get to educate someone!

I'm a pre-T transman, and I totally understand your number one here. I have a boyfriend and I've told him about my thought and my uncertainty about being a cisfemale. As soon as I told him, I instantly got bombarded with "my wonderful handsome boyfriend" and he's been so supporting, and I couldn't ask for anyone else.

I'm asking this because I'm very curious if I'm the only one. Has anyone else when they discovered they were trans felt in denial and felt that it was just a phase? It's really hard to explain. But ever since I came to the conclusion I've felt worried and scared and unsure about myself. Please let me know!

imaging my personality and social perspective if i had been born a cis guy… yikes. With all of the problems that came with getting socialized as a girl (started transitioning at 19 so I very much grew up female), there’s a lot of positive perspectives you get as well, that I would have missed out on growing up as a boy. There’s so much toxic masculinity that I’ve never been socialized to have, I’ve grown up in an environment where I was encouraged to express my feelings, I feel like I have more affectionate friendships, etc. When the day finally comes that I pass as male, I’m going to be a lot more sensitive to the problems that the women around me face than cis guys might be. In the end, I’m very grateful for the childhood that I got!

Definitely needed this today. it's been a long day. being trans is something I can only see the bad side of, given the dysphoria and crushing anxiety. Given this video I have some positive things to think of too. bless you Jamie.~a tiny gay trans boy
