I love when DMs allow for good dialog during RP to supercede the rolls. If the player gives an amazing speech, like Rhi did with the spirit, they shouldnt really have to make a check. There is nothing that takes the wind out of your sails faster than saying something epic in character and then rolling a 1 on persuasion and completely undoing it.

As a fisherman, I feel like when Gruff changes his spells out he just changes the bait in his tackle box and the hooks on his lines and it alters the spells he can cast. Like each bit of his fishing equipment has been enfused with the energy of nature and bound to Gruff through years of what is essentially rituallized use.

It is first time when I see such interesting possesion mechanic - giving player autonomy in their action, takien their "body: action separately. Defenetly something i will use ;) Also, battle and atmosphere :)

It seems every other time I watch High Rollers, Mark introduces something new that I end up wanting to steal for my game. His unique take on possession is inspired, folding it into a secondary objective, and his take on elite enemies is dynamic and exciting.

Kim mentions that people say she needs to speed up her turn… what the actual fuck?? I want to know what these haters are smoking… Kim constantly has some of the most creative and complex turns that try to accomplish multiple things at a time. And even considering that, I have never felt once like her turn has ever gone on too long. Absolute fabrications.

Okay, im in the middle of watching this so idk if it is said later on but my theory is that the demon light things built on the hate of the ghost’s husband and caused a possession of them, which lead to her death. I would think this is how it all links together

The "fate dice" dont really work that well. The player get too little out of them and mark gets too much. Instead of adding the result to the roll, they should grant advantage to the players, a bit like DM inspiration works. He is forcing them to use fate instead of the wanting to use it naturally.

So now it's just Pathfinder/3.5 with the edges sanded off

Wonderful episode! I love the possession mechanic and the elite enemies. Its starting to feel like destiny/fate is going to play a larger roll (no pun) going forward. Perhaps a god of fate? If you guys DO start doing tours and you DO make it to the US, may i recommend denver as a possible option. It doesnt have much to offer compared to cities on the west coast, east coast, or great lakes region.... HOWEVER it will give you the chance to make "things to do in denver when you're dead" necromancer jokes AND its the closest big city to me so i can come see you do a live show. Selfish of me perhaps, but the rocky mountains are worth seeing at least once in your life.

Im sorry to say but this campaign is not going the way i thought it would. From one Dm to another im a lil disappointed on how this campaignbis going. I love the High Rollers and the previous campaigns before but this style of Dming is not for me. My biggest issue is there is no more freedom with in the group. There no more listening from the group its just Marks way. This campaign feels so lackluster. I love a new mechanic but not one thats unbalanced and unfair to the players. You might need to fresh up on you D&D its open to interpretation. I only have love for the High Rollers so hopefully this campaign gets better ❤❤❤
